The sauce is more flavorful than the other one, but seems to have more msg in the soup.. but a little more pricey than the other shop down the street

Finally got to try “Chiew Kee Noodle House” after I tried “Original Chew Kee Eating House” along the same street. Personal Observations of Differences: 1) Seats for Dine-in: Chew Kee generally has more seats & customers than “Chiew Kee” (helps during peak hour meal) 2) Taste of Chicken: Chew Kee’s chicken is “sweeter” in taste & slightly more tender. Chiew Kee’s chicken is more salty than Chew Kee. Chew Lee’s chicken are cut & soaked back in its soy sauce to absorb more flavour 3) Noodles: I can’t compare directly as I tried Chew’s Kway Teow/Hor Fun while I tried Chiew’s Egg Noodles (面仔). I like Chiew’s noodles more 4) Soup: I can’t remember how Chew’s tasted. For Chiew’s, their soup is very flavourful & strong. I seldom have such good soup with dried noodles. 5) Price: I can’t compare as I was treated at Chew. Chiew’s chicken noodles on 21 Jun 2022 is $5. Very reasonable in the area Conclusion: The taste of the chicken are not the same. Chiew Kee’s sweeter. Chew Kee’s more salty. I guess it depends on which your personal preference. I will pick the restaurant that has seat for me during lunch.

I prefer this stall over the other along the same street. The sauce is also very fragrant without being just plain salty. However, the chicken is juicier and the noodles have a better texture over here. A drumstick noodle at $6 is a little on the high side though.

4.5+ stars. Prefer this store with 2nd storey to the sibling store. Food quality: + Soya sauce is blend of sweet and salty, none of which are overpowering. Sauce is tasty and blends extremely well with chicken and noodles + Chicken is juicy, not too dry + Wanton are delicious Food portion / Price: $28 Whole chicken, $14 half chicken - recommend this much more worth it and satisfying to the $5 for soya sauce chicken noodle, especially when in groups for sharing Service: Order with waiter/tress, pay at counter, food will be delivered to table Crowd: Expect a crowd during lunch hour, go early or expect to queue after 12pm! Payment: Bank QR apps or cash only.

Rather than reviewing, I am merely enjoying the consistency of being served one of the best soy sauce chicken noodles in Singapore decade after decade. Really love the springy “crunchy” noodles. So good you could just snack on it alone. Once again the chili sauce don’t really do justice so I’ll try to avoid tarnishing the original taste. Shiok as always.

I always love their chicken. However, I had very bad experience yesterday, took away one whole chicken and get home discover the chicken is overcooked, not fresh, and the bones are black and the chicken meat are all overcooked. The shop denied and I ask for a call back after investigation, but nobody care to call back. Pls see if yourself, u can’t differentiate which part is drumstick or breast meat!!! And the meat are also tasteless, and there is no one proper juicy skin, all skins are over STEAMED(no blood and not fresh because it should be overnight and Re-steam)! Pls compared with all other posting, look at how diff the chicken is…. And u know what I mean. I purposely drove back to the shop and brought back the half chicken to let them see, and till now they never call back also, Super disappointed! Won’t be eating here anymore after supporting them more than 10 years. Bye bye!

Best Soya Sauce Chicken! This classic has not changed for years. The soya sauce has the right amount of saltiness and sweetness. The chicken is super tasty with melt in your mouth skin and tender meat. The restaurant is a bit small but turnover is fast so you can get a seat right away. Service is great as they have a lot of staff and the price is just right. Highly recommended indeed! Oh.. don’t forget to order their dumpling soup. ;)
