Did a walk-in over the weekend and got a table for 4 in less than 5 minutes (the crowd wasn't as bad as what the reviews said). The interior of the cafe is amazing, especially when we are seated next to the spiral stairs. I had the squid ink risotto thats comes with generous serving of fish roe (and coriander which is loved by some and killed many others), and is a pure umami goddess. Coffee is a must have - smell good, taste good.

Love the high ceilinged space with coffee and food menus that should have something for everyone. Ordered the new items (heard from Chef Alison that they were just launched last week), when we visited today. The Bulgogi Toast ($21) had ribbons of lacey beef simmered in gochujang piled on a slice of sourdough and topped with two sous vide eggs. Hearty and tasty, the open face sandwich was made healthier by a side of mesclun salad. Also very delicious if not more, the Pumpkin Hash & Toast ($16). I found the smoky jumble of pumpkin, bell peppers and red onions really appealing. Bonus is the choice they give for how you prefer your eggs done: scrambled, sunnyside or sous-vide. Hawker food elevated with wit by Head Chef Danny Law and his team. That’s how I’d describe the crowd favourite of Carrot Cake Fries ($12). Not just for its Jenga-like presentation but tastiness because the cushiony sticks of carrot cake (chye tow kway) were generously lashed with a glorious housemade spicy sambal mayo and garnished with dehydrated pickled radish (“chai por”). Desserts took a decided turn for the finer as Chef Alison who specialises in them, explained what went into two of her creations. I had chosen the Grape plated dessert but she also brought us her new Chocolate one to try - thank you for that, Chef. Want something refreshing? The Grape ($14) will hit the spot as it’s an icy-cold hit of grape granita, elderflower ice-cream, lime jelly and roasted grapes. My hubby stole the whole bowl after his first bite! But I had no issues having the Chocolate ($16) all to myself. Complementing the intense Araguani chocolate sorbet scrumptiously were dark chocolate cream cheese, crunchy hazelnut praline and a flurry of white chocolate truffle snow. Overall, it was not too sweet which is how I like my desserts.

Overall experience was okay! Vibes and aesthetics of the cafe was on point. Food was good, but really on the higher price. We had the bulgogi toast, fungi pasta, carrot cake fries ($12), hot mocha and iced latte. Everything was 76.50$ including gst & service charge! Service could be better, the hostess who served us in was a little unfriendly..

Ordered a filter coffee and Coexist Burger, and sat at the steps. Coffee was good, with earthy notes coming through. Got to love natural processed coffee. Though there was a slight lingering astringency. They used a rather large carafe for the filter coffee, which aesthetically looks rather small an amount of coffee. A smaller carafe that is filled would probably be more pleasing to the eyes. Burger was supposed to be cooked medium but most parts were medium-well. Maybe it was just me, not a big issue, but nothing really stood out too. Staff were relatively friendly but there’s a general sense of lethargy. Either long hours, or they were just bored, since there weren’t many people near evening time. There were still some sunlight when I was here, but I guess the main feature is still the general coffee bar. However, the steps look pretty promising in becoming a feature piece for photographs with the right lighting at night. Service staff were relatively good, especially the guy in pink - he put in the effort to check on customers’ satisfaction for food and drinks. That is the right guy for service industry - initiative, observant, and awareness. Price wise, probably not too wallet-friendly or value-for-money. The filter coffee was almost priced the same as a cup of 90+ coffee at The Cupping Room, which I’m a little perplexed. Generally, comfortable environment. Would need a jacket if you intend to sit long. Food and drinks wise, okay. Would I go again? Probably not.

Love the unique ambience and design of the cafe. Every corner is instagrammable. Coffee is good. Been to their outlet at hill view and cbd. Coffee quality so far are consistently good. The grilled cheese sandwich was good too! Will want to visit again.

Selling point of the place was definitely the ambience! We sat at one of the elevated seats so there was a nice view of the entire cafe. Food was average, nothing too special that you wouldn’t expect from regular cafe fare but portions were rather generous! Pasta was alright but the tatertots were a bit too salty.

Food was pretty alright. Tater tots came in a huge portion. The burger tastes okay, however I’m not quite sure if the patty was well cooked, I’ve eaten plenty of beef Patties and this one felt abit too raw in the inner portion. Coffee was good though. Just remember to reserve a slot early if you plan to dine at the mezzanine level.

The space is nice and the food is not too bad too. Came on weekdays in the afternoon, and wasn’t crowded. So it was pretty peaceful and I love it. But I do have one point to feedback is that they could be more thoughtful about the customer experience. For example in my picture of the tea infusion, the water is so hot. How do you expect me to hold and pour it into the teacup? I guess that’s why there’s always a handle to hold on the “teapot” or a double wall glass? I know it looks great but is not practical at all… something for the management to consider.
