Coffee Hut - #02-43 Jln Besar

Went there yesterday morning around 9 AM. The experience had been awful for just so so kopi C kosong, toast and egg. I asked the uncle / owner to make the egg more cooked and his reply was "I don't know, I can not see the egg inside". I went ahead with the order nonetheless. After a long wait (finish my bak chor mee) I went back to follow up and was asked to give them another 3 minutes. I put a timer for 5 minutes and went back to have my order still on the queue. I then asked how much longer I should wait and the uncle reply was "It is already on the queue, don't wait around here, go back to your seat and waste my time please". I can't describe his unpleasant tone in this review but it was simply rude, arrogant for something that is just edible. Next time I would order my morning routine to the auntie behind his stall, she seems to be jolly serving her customers - start my morning with pleasant note.

Based on price point for hawker stalls, it’s on the high side ($1.50 for my kopi C). Kopi is fragrant but would be better if it’s thicker. Bought a bottle of pandan kaya ($3.50 for small one). Probably will come back to try their toast.

Had Set A consisting of coffee, half-boiled eggs & kaya-butter toast. Coffee is nice but the one at Golden Mile Food Centre is preferred. Half-boiled eggs were done well! Toast is simple and nothing to shout about. Price is a bit high given it's location.

Unique kopi stall focused on high quality gourmet standard kopi. Not as strong as most local kopi, but definitely smoother with more balanced flavour. Kaya toast is traditional and also subtler than most with seemingly less sugar.

Weekend experience: super long wait till my partner had finished his meal. Looking forward to a better experience during weekdays. End up also super long wait. When I saw the person who came much later than me got his food, I went to check. It is then I saw my order sitting at the collection "window". The buzzer did not buzz. The man who took my order said that is not my order. Then woman said yes. I asked "How come the buzzer did not buzz?" The man said they went to look for me but couldn't find me. l said I am sitting not too far away from the stall. SILENCE. (Then I recalled the woman did looked up when she served another customer their food( the customer came after me too), but how could she recognise me when she is not the one who took my orders?) I jus took the the tray of lukewarm food n left in dissapointed. Never going to this stall again. Food not that great and not that they are value for money. Spoilt my day.

Kopi (coffee) is great. Very popular and the waiting time is usually around 30 minutes. Besides kopi, the stall offers half boiled eggs and kaya butter toast too.

I like the coffee here. I always get the kopi gao ping, which I love. The uncle has always been pleasant; his wife could sometimes seem unpleasant, but i just ignore that behavior because i like the coffee. I’ve never had the uncle be unpleasant ever, so maybe the other reviewer’s experience wasn’t a good day for uncle. Not sure. Love that this place is a hop from my place. They’re not open on Sundays, I believe.

Skipped the bread as I already had fish ball noodles. Heard about coffee being aromatic and tea being not bad so I ordered eggs with teh c. Teh was very fragrant and eggs done adequately. Hope to bring wife back for the coffee soon.
