★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really awful “congee”, yam cake, and cheung fun.
The “congee”, which is definitely not an authentic Cantonese style congee and more of a Singapore style rice porridge, is terribly bland but full of white pepper and is made up of about 25% clumped up rice. The ingredients are miserly, the meatballs have a very strange texture and taste, and the sliced pork is very dry and rubbery. The yam cake has a strange blueish tinge and the cheung fun is some generic factory made type. “Chili” sauce was really sweet and has ZERO spice. Only thing decent was the dough sticks.
Absolutely ruined my appetite for the day.
