โ โ โ โ โ Dim sum was borderline exceptable. Egg tarts would have been good if they weren't cold. Salted egg fried pumpkin had a nice batter but the pumpkin was cut really thick and therefore still quite hard. Skip the char siew polo; the dough under the pastry layer was literally a thick pau type of dough. Service could have been better at this price point.

โ โ โ โ โ Worst Crystal Jade outlet, will not come back again and do not recommend anyone who wants decent dimsum to come. The salted egg yolk custard bun is stale. The bun is hard and the custard is not smooth like how it should be. The dough fritters rice roll is bad as well. The dough fritter is so hard and it seems undercooked as you can taste the flour.

โ โ โ โ โ This outlet used to be good. But service fell short of expectations. Sat down and nobody came to take our orders. Though not a big issue, however after placing our orders, nobody came to set the table with condiments and cutlery etc. Worst to come was some of our order was forgotten. After the staff enquired twice, only then was the missing order served. Being a Sunday was no reason for this lapsed. Luckily the food was good though. If not it could be worstโฆ

โ โ โ โ โ Rude supervisor on duty. Apparently lack of staff so they hire anyone who wants to work. Tall woman with glasses. Even had time to quarrel with kitchen staff. Wanted char siew and roast duck rice. Now cannot order a rice dish but need to separate the meats and dishes. But they said no more char siew. So had to order roast pork and roast duck and other veg dishes. I went to buy other food. When I returned I heard someone could order char siew. And I was not told I could get discount with citi bank card until I heard another customer was offered. Wah what kind of service these days.

โ โ โ โ โ Quality of food is decent. Crystal Jade is an established eatery and standard is so far consistent for every visit. For todayโs visit, Tofu is smooth and silky. Very well complemented with the crispy dried shrimp and crunchy preserved turnips. Lo mai kai is worth mentioning as itโs very soft and flavourful. Claypot eggplant with minced meat goes very well with rice as the little bits of salted fish in the gravy brings out the flavour well. On average, it cost about $16+ for each dish (except lo mai gai). Abit steep but based on Singaporeโs high standard of living, itโs now the norm for such restaurants. When paying for such high price, we will normally expect that dining environment is pleasant with good service. Service is something that HV branch needs to improve on.
