Overpriced. Cost $18+ for this. Ingredients chosen includes: 2 luncheon meat, 1 meatball, 1 sausage, 2 cheese toufu, 1 broccoli, 1 noodles, some bean sprouts, 2 seaweed. Usually around $12-14 elsewhere. Taste-wise it’s actually not bad but can’t justify for the pricing still.

Dragon fly mala hotpot just opened recently at Hougang Rivercourt on the 1st of May 2022. It is located inside kofu food court and serves mainly Chinese cuisine. They have a wide selection of Chinese dishes that caters to all the people who loves Chinese traditional food that is similar to the ones serve in China. I had their mala hotpot when they first opened and it was good. Take note that their malanis really quite spicy for someone like me who can take spicy. Therefore, do order 小辣 if you really can't take spicy. The flavours and texture are on point, the ingredients are all fresh and clean as well. I will recommend their mala hotpot if it's your first time there and can't decide what to eat. Moving forward, they also serve classic zhi char Chinese dishes similar to the ones that can be found in Chinatown areas. One of Mt personal favourite is the shredded chicken with green and red peppers. It is very tasty and the pork is lean and cut very thinly as well. Some of my other favourites includes the glazed potato and eggplant dish, and also their mala grilled fish which is priced reasonably. The fish is fresh and large in size, easily able to cater up to 3 or 4 pax. I do have a feedback though. The rice with meat dishes is sometimes not avaliable during peak hours according to the staff there as they mentioned that they are too busy.. So I had to order ala carte and add rice.. Hopefully they can solve the manpower crunch issue soon. Do come and try if you're in the Rivercourt area!
