Chance upon this stall with a long queue that is selling chicken rice the other time I was in the coffeeshop for the minced meat noodles. Decided to drop by today to give this place a try since I am in the area running some errands. Chicken rice starts from SGD$3 onwards. I completed my meal with an additional braised egg. First impression, generous portion.the rice and chili was not bad. Chicken was a little tough for my liking.

A famous chicken rice stall that I have been patronising since I was a boy. They are still here and more importantly the food is still as good as before. Bosses are still the same as before! Tender chicken, fragrant rice and tasty chili sauce. Good service too!

There was a time in my life that I lived in relative poverty, having sunk savings into a failing venture, freelancing without income security, and unable to find sustainable full time employment. . In those difficult times, I had a budget of just $5 per day (or less) for all meals. And that's why this brand holds a special place in my heart. . At just SGD $2.50 back then, their generous portions went a long way. Here, I could get a good amount of fluffy rice, fragrant with grainy savoury sweet flavour. . The chicken was medium sliced in equally generous portions, and poached or roasted, was fresh and meaty sweet savoury in flavour, with the gravy lending a fragrant salty savoury nutty aroma, so good. . For the price, they even included a good amount of cucumbers (changed to bean sprouts and carrots now) with crunchy vegetal sweet notes, as well as a warm cabbage soup. . I'm thankful to them. These days, even adjusting for inflation, they still have good portions at wallet-friendly prices.

Tasty chicken fragrant Roasted chicken drumstick, chicken is tender, smooth and the aroma is up there as compared to other famous brands. The rice is also very pungent. One of the better chicken rice stores that we have tried so far. A plate Chicken comes with some tomatoes and beansprouts as the base. This store have the nostalgic taste and to me is a must try! Overall 5/5 stars!
