The standard of the food has dropped substantially. Ordered the Japanese food and it was so so at best! Ordered the Fish soup both with fried steam fish combo and was bland as anything....in the words of my son...literally fish and in salt water...it was that bland!! Ordered the chicken chop from Abang Gemuk....really no standard lah. Never going back!

Ordered food for takeaway at 6:58 at the Japanese/Korean store. An older man came 5 minutes or so after me and got the same food first at around 7:07-7:08. Only got my order at 7:14-7:15.

The fish soup is good. Simple ingredients but shiok. Pancake price increased 50% or so now it’s shocking, and the dough so thin with little ingredients.

One of my favourite coffee shop. It has been renovated. Most of the old stall still here. 2 of my old time favourite, slice fish porridge and claypot chicken rice. The other stalls are fantastic too. The new halal Western food has splendid choices and the Japanese Korean bento are super cheap and good. MUST TRY! 1) Peanut Pancake 2) Slice Fish Soup 3) Claypot rice 4) Roast duck drumstick rice 5) Chicken with Salmon Bento

The Japanese / Korean food is decent. There are 30+ different items on the menu. Totally spoilt for choices. The omelette rice I think they forgot to put ketchup... So lacking a bit of flavour, but overall still not bad.

A coffeeshop by the corner. Many new stalls with colorful signboards. Food wise so but find the prices more expensive then other coffeeshop. But coffee and tea is standard price and is nice.

Chanced upon this coffeehouse in blk 119. I found this store by the name of the "moment Thai" pretty interesting. Therefore, I gave it a shot. The chef is 2x Thai people; they can speak Thai and English and Mandarin as well. Pretty cool people. Now to the food. Its original thai food prepped by Thai people, but they've adjusted the taste to suit the locals. I have tried their salt baked fish, it's pretty awesome and great value for money, it's big and the chilli sauce that is supposed to go with it is delicious. You have to wait for about 20 to 30 mins for this fish because its covered entirely with salt and then baked with lemon grass in it. Its pretty nice and fresh and delicious as well. What's more, the fish is like 20$ for a medium-sized sized fish. Great deal. Now come to the tomyum soup. Generous portion, and not too over bearing with spiciness, it's more of the sweet side of things, it's not like some Tom yum soup where its just spicy spicy and nothing else. The seafood inside the soup is also pretty generous, too. The fried fish sausage. Personal favourite. A bit on the oily side, but very good appetiser.. The stir-fried kai lan is really awesome. It has little tinge of spiciness, and they used roast pork with a bit of sauce to stir fry. The end result, you get really good "wok hey" kai lan with the saltiness and fragrance of the roasted pork. Overall, I think this store is pretty decently priced, and the food is awesome. I will be back to try out more of its dish. I'm surprised to find such a decent Thai food in a sleepy aljunid neighbourhood.
