Met one of their designers for a discussion for space planning. The designer was young, but seemed capable. Designer mentioned that they would get back with a quotation and space planning. Never heard back after the first meet up. Found this very unprofessional.

Design fees $4,000. Met with Jasmine ID. Spent 1 hour explaining what I wanted, then she "proposed" company model of design fee and then quotation. I am not against design fees, but she was suggesting to first pay $4,000, design for 3 months, THEN get a quotation, afterwhich we decide of we want to proceed with them or not. Who has 3 months to waste like that?!?! Don't waste your time!

The team at FSI made the entire renovation journey as painless and satisfying as can be. As a first time home owner, I couldn't have chosen a better team to help me realize my dream home. FSI was one of the handful of ID firms I shortlisted based on the quality of their designs in previous projects. I knew I wanted a unique home that suits my lifestyle and tastes, and I found the right fit when I met Carlos and Jovie. Carlos took my requirements into careful consideration to come up with a great first-cut design and had innovative ideas that exceeded my expectations!. He then factored in my inputs and didn't hesitate to continuously work on the design until I was fully happy with it. The team was also very mindful to stay within the constraints of my reno budget. The entire project went smoothly and timelines were met due to the careful planning and attention Jovie placed in managing the renovation. She even helped sort out problems I had in other areas (like delivery issues with my furniture and appliances). With Jovie keeping and eye out on things, I never had to worry about the quality of workmanship. I am very glad I chose FSI for my home renovation. Design. Speed. Quality. EASE! I believe that picking an ID for renovation is both an art and a science, with a bit of luck thrown in. I had enquired at two firms, FSI and another very well publicized firm when I started looking. The other firm found out that it was a three room flat I was refurbishing and did not ever reply. FSI got back to me and arranged for a F2F meeting. I spoke with Jasmine and it just felt right. She is young, energetic, lively and hears what I say. She explained clearly how the firm works, including an upfront design fee for a set of 3Ds and also what the budget is likely to be and the entire process. When I decided to go with the firm, with Jasmine as my ID, she was able to take charge of and direct the entire process from start to finish. My first meeting with her was in April 2021 and we had an initial discussion before she came by to do site measurements. I then did my own mood board which reflected designs, colors and inspirations of my choice. In about a month, the initial design was birthed. Consequently, we worked on progressive design drafts and changes whereby she took into account the overhanging pipes, beams and pillars in an old flat, the furniture I would be keeping and the artwork I eventually want to display. We started tile, fittings and all the other shopping in June and the renovation itself in July. Throughout the whole process, Jasmine monitored tightly the various contractors from the electrician, plumber, aircon, curtains, lights and so on, and arranged to meet me with them either at the shops or onsite. Billing was done direct from the vendors to me. She was around for the majority of the deliveries which was essential so that I do not have to take leave and she ensured that installation went well. She provided almost weekly updates with photos and was onsite to check on the works. She also dealt with some leakage that occurred and did the necessary for my downstairs neighbour. The actual renovation including hacking, electrical works, plumbing and carpentry took three months, almost totally according to her planned timeline despite there being some pandemic-related delays. The flat was handed over after a thorough cleaning, in livable condition. It was ready in time for almost all the furniture and appliances to be delivered over a weekend and I was able to move back within a week after furniture was delivered. I waited for close to three weeks after move-in to write this review partly because I knew that you can only see the faults after you've lived in it. I am happy to say that they are far and few in between and very insignificant like small imperfections in paint work in the corners etc. The whole design is not just aesthetic but practical. The colors and aesthetics showed that Jasmine translated my mood board beautifully, integrating what I showed her into a coherent design that considered my lifestyle and needs. Jasmine is a thoughtful and responsive ID and project manager. I couldn't have done this without her and I highly recommend both her and FSI to my friends. She is still helping me with some additional work that I decided to do, even though we have basically completed the project. Some of the stuff that she recommended that I did not even think I need are the gorgeous blinds, digital locks, designer ceiling fans and smart lighting. They are not just nice to look at but super practical! My learning from this experience: give time for designs to form and for the works to be carried out; get a project manager if you don't have the time, capacity or interest to follow up and manage deliveries and the finer details like where the aircon should be; have extra money so that you can get better hinges, the nicer fan etc. For the last point, I have to say that it was a pretty sum I paid overall but I have no regrets. I now have a home I loathe to leave in the mornings!

We always felt that going through a renovation was a nightmare. We browsed through many ID firms, read through all the comments and came across “Free Space Intent”. We were attracted & impressed by their creativity. They just looked different. Our first visit started with a warm welcome by Raymond. After a 2 hrs chat, we made up our mind on the spot ?. We were won over by Raymond’s sincerity, creativity and ideas. He was prepared and sounded the right person for the "job". No fancy promises nor guarantees to quick turn arounds. He lets his designs do the talking. Some people may mistook him as boastful but trust us, he sets the bar high and delivers. The design phase was new to us but we were highly impressed with the uniqueness and boldness. We were hesitant at times but Raymond was always there to walk us through his thoughts and ideas. We bounced ideas around with him and he was always receptive to alternatives. The whole Renovation was like a roller coster due to the covid situation. However, Raymond has proven his capability in managing the whole process against all odds. He made things happen and ensured the renovation was kept on track and of a high standard. And of cos we have Brandon who is the Captain on the ground. A guy who is as cool as a cucumber?, quiet but strong, always there to keep things on track. From the beginning to the handover, Raymond & Brandon jumped through hoops to keep things moving under this extremely difficult covid period. They were very responsive and responsible in providing updates. Their attention to detail was phenomenal. They made the entire renovation an amazing experience. At times when we couldnt agree on a particular design or color scheme or furniture, Raymond is always the "go to" person. His expertise and experience gave us the assurance that we had put our faith in the right ID. Once again, Heartfelt thanks to Raymond for designing and creating a unique magical home for us. Working with Leon was a pleasant, enjoyable and super smooth experience. Was glad he was available and happy to work on our EM. He has amazing vibes. While FSI rates are not for the faint-hearted but also not the most expensive. The quality of workmanship and peace of mind that renovation works can be completed and being responsive throughout the process was very reassuring. Post-work qc checks could definitely be better but overall we didn't have much rectification works to raise.

This is our 2nd time working with Raymond (and Perlinda) from Free Space Intent. We first engaged Raymond and team in 2012. We loved the collaboration with Raymond and team, and are extremely happy with the results of the two houses that we did (8+ years apart). Raymond is a thoughtful and attentive designer who takes time to understand you (and your family) as an individual, and tries to figure out the likes and dislikes of each party. He was able to come up with designs that not only matched our personalities, but included our functional requirements. We could tell that it's clearly not a cookie-cutter design but one made out of his acute design sense, attention to details and practicality. It was a breeze working with Raymond and team, as they would provide recommendations on the types of materials such as tiles, wallpaper, etc that are suitable based on their design instead of us having to make individual trips to each different shops to make the selection. Raymond and Perlinda were also upfront and transparent with things they can and cannot do, and was forthcoming about the progress throughout the project, and it helped us manage our expectations and align on alternatives when we needed to. Customer satisfaction is their upmost priority and they shirk no responsibility when it comes to rectifications, even after full payment is made. They focus on helping us resolving any issues that we may encounter even after moving in. At the end of the day, Raymond and team really cares about giving you a happy (and beautiful) home to stay in, and he and his team will do whatever they can to achieve that, from the start, to finish, and including prompt rectifications.

A huge thank you to Jasmine and the entire FSI team! We originally hired FSI after seeing their Joo Chiat walk up project (Zubir Said house). We too wanted that modern yet nostalgic feel for our East Coast walk up apartment. And boy did Jasmine deliver on that design brief! Our new home is a wonderful blend of farmhouse and perankan with just the right amount of mid-century modern. We've been getting so many compliments from friends! Our project was particularly ambitious because we also completely changed the layout. Bedrooms were hacked down and new ones built on the other side of the home. It all turned out perfect though. The new space is so much more welcoming and a great fit for our needs. We'd done renovations before but this was our first time engaging an ID. Just as WebMD makes everyone an armchair doctor, we too had too many misinformed ideas from Pinterest. Credit to Jasmine though, she pushed back several times on our bad suggestions. Taking the time to educate us on the nuances of good design. And she was always right. If you're hiring Jasmine, just trust her design sense - we never regretted doing so. Our design phase took 3 months to complete. Truthfully, there were many times where I wish we could have moved quicker. But in hindsight, the upfront 3D design process was so worthwhile. Once the building phase started, everything fell into place like clockwork. Unlike other ID firms who gave rough SketchUp models, FSI provided photo realistic renderings which looked almost exactly like the finished product. This allowed us to make very informed decisions on the colour combos and layouts before a single brick was laid. It was a game changer. As for Jasmine, she was always so responsive over WhatsApp (I'm not sure if she ever sleeps!). She was super great to work with - very detailed, great eye for design, always punctual and very receptive to our needs. I'm thanking my lucky stars that we got assigned to her! :D Prior to hiring FSI, I heard so much about them being a top design agency. After having worked with them, I can 100% affirm that they lived up to every expectation. I'm so pleased with how it turned out. I'll definitely be hiring them again for my next home.
