Geylang East Public Library - 50 Geylang East Ave 1

Well managed with friendly and helpful staff and the entire library is incredibly clean, both inside and outside. One side of the library is the car park and the other side has a small park with 3 gorgeous trees that have to slant away from the building. Extremely healthy trees. And next to the trees, the MRT track. At the back of the building is the external book drop, open 24 x 7 x 365. For the convenience of borrowers to return the books. I love this library. Thank you.

A nice library with artificial grass-patch near window areas for readers to read and chill while charging your phone(see charging station), just need your ID to access. Very convenient.

not my favourite library to browse books because lights r very clinical n the fiction section has rly low and hard to navigate shelves. personally it doesn't strike me as the kinda library that makes me wanna explore the books yknow. nonetheless they have quite a few titles that r unavailable elsewhere (which is usually the reason i wld drop by) also i came here at night n there r a few creepy uncles just sitting around. not my place to judge but like i said, not a library i like to browse in but the staff is really nice tho

Very nice and well maintained library! Lost my wallet here and the kind staffs kept it for me. Other than reading books, you can also browse and print which is nice when you need to printing documents. 6 out of 5!

A lot more collection compare to the libraries nearer to our place. Tidy & clean, there is tables & chairs as well as free seating corner too for kids

My rating: 4/5 What I like in libraries: Books that are available that I originally have on my online To-Be-Read (TBR). Spacious environments. Multiple book genres. I wish that the Geylang East Library was closer to where I stayed so I could go there more often. The library has a nice location because it’s just 5 minutes away from the MRT. The library has 2 levels. On the first level there is the borrowing books section, and right across the hall there is a children books section. The children’s section is one of the best children’s sections I’ve seen. When I had walked in I noticed immediately that the room was not tiny. The children’s section is a good size for children because some children are very hyper, so if they want to find books that they are interested in they can just keep walking around because the room is a very nice size, and find books. The second level has Cooking, Singapore Collection, Fiction, Non-fiction, Business, and YP (Young People) books. I like it when libraries have books on display so I can maybe browse through them and that’s what the Geylang library had. There’s also this nice long sofa that multiple people can sit on and also a nice place to use a computer on. There are also a few seats and smaller tables in the middle close to the sofa and that’s really nice for having a pile of books and just reading for the day. Overall, I think the Geylang East library is a very nice place to study, use your computer, and read for the whole day if you’re up for it.
