Gi Associates Gastroenterology - 6 Napier Rd

Dr Chuah is one of the most kind and genuine doctors I have come across in Singapore. She takes time to understand the issue and advises accordingly without making you go through unnecessary list of tests for no reason. I highly recommend her.

I saw Dr. Ooi Choon Jin @ GI Associates Gastroenterology at both Gleneagles and Farrer Park Hospital. I am thankful for the following: + Dr. Ooi takes time to understand my concerns and address my 1001 questions. + His mannerism makes me feel totally at ease discussing ANY medical concerns (from the start to the end of the digestive system) with him. + Explains clearly in simple terms and with the help of diagrams. + The way he has everything at his fingertips makes me feel assured that there is no doubt about his diagnosis and he knows exactly what needs to be done for the condition(s) to improve. + Highly knowledgeable in this field and has vast clinical experience, yet continues to keep abreast. Browsing through a few of his papers made me even more certain that he's a guru in this field whom I can fully entrust all matters pertaining to my gastrointestinal health to. + Only suggests tests that are necessary. + Responds to email queries very fast. Able to reach him via phone when I had (seemingly) urgent queries on whether I could proceed with the following day's endoscopy. + Prompt in updating me about my endoscopy results via phone instead of waiting for the subsequent scheduled consultation. + Suggests alternative approaches (such as taking food that may be helpful) towards health concerns rather than relying solely on medication. + Balanced approach towards treatment and being able to enjoy quality of life, i.e., without excessively depriving oneself of the "finer things in life". + Superb medical services at very reasonable cost - consultation charges are comparable to the cost of seeing senior consultants in govt/restructured hospitals as a private patient. Furthermore, this clinic dispenses quality medication (not the generic versions). + In the AIA panel of private specialist doctors - this allows me to be covered for 13 months pre- and post- hospitalisation.

Dr Chuah was very warm and professional. She took time to explain to me about my condition. She showed care in prescribing only needed medication. Dr Ooi (Wee) was also professional and patient. The staff at the counter were also very helpful and efficient. Even the Filipino nurse that comes in to do blood test was skilled and nice. They not only care to help you but also will discuss on how your company Insurance can help cover the fees. Positive experience! There is free shuttle bus from Novena MRT too so easy for those who don't drive!

Been co-seeing Dr Ooi for quite a while due to my complex small bowel inflammation condition and multiple episodes of single balloon scopes were performed by Dr Ooi. He is a doctor whom never rush to chat and listens to conversations with my 1000 questions asked. Even inpatient, Dr Ooi comes to check on me before and after the scope and I am really grateful with the reassurance that Dr Ooi always provides. Thank you for the care, patience and dedication to look after me.

Due to a horrifying & unprofessional experience at Raffles hospital, i went to seek a 2nd opinion from Dr Chuah. During my 1st meeting with her, she took the care to read through the scans and reports that i had. She listened attentively to my then-condition. At the time of visit, i was still feverish and in pain but Dr Chuah was very assuring, and advised me not to be overly worried first while she went on to do a body check for me then proceed to explain clearly on the plan for the hospital admission to the checks that she will be arranging with her team. Even prior to my admission, Dr Chuah called and check on me to make sure i was still doing alright and not working anymore. All throughout my hospital admission at GlenE, Dr Chuah was there every step, each report that came in, she will explain in details - my condition and what we should be looking out for. Once we got the diagnosis, Dr Chuah arranged for the right doctors to be there, from the liver doctor to the CT & ultrasound doctors and worked with them. Everything was very clear, and there wasnt a minute where i was made to felt scared or worrisome of my condition. Any questions i had, were all professionally answered with patience and care. Dr Chuah planned and arranged for everything from the start, and do not recommend any checks | treatments | medication if she deems it unnecessary. She comes across to us as a doctor, who listens and understand first before making any plans. Very patient, beautiful and caring. The interaction with Dr Chuah has always been 2 way communication and not just one sided. i truly appreciate the time that she takes to explain, be it the procedures or the medical reports that comes in. A very professional doctor who simply shines! And not forgetting the wonderful caring frontdesk team, Shu Mei & Lilian!
