Glad Clinic - 3 Mount Elizabeth

I have logged a complaint against Stephen Chang Kin Yong of Glad Clinic to the Singapore Medical Council with multiple very serious allegations. It will be a tough battle as Chang has disagreed vigorously with all of my allegations including my allegations that he maliciously misdiagnosed my liver cyst with malignancy which lead me into agreeing to have liver resection surgery. An appeal had also been lodged to the Minster of Health in 2020 and am still awaiting the decision. This will take time. Visited Stephen Chang for treatment options for my pelvis cyst. All the while I also knew from other doctors that I had asymptomatic liver cysts which requires no treatment. Stephen Chang performed the most invasive open liver surgery for my asymptomatic liver cysts. All that was achieved from that open liver surgery was a needle aspiration of one of the liver cyst. No deroofing or resection was done on any liver cyst. Needle aspiration of a liver cyst is an ineffective treatment as they will surely fill back up. Such a procedure can be achieved via a much less invasive ultrasound aspiration. Post surgery, I consulted both SGH and Mayo Clinic who assured me that asymptomatic liver cysts does not require any surgery. This liver surgery should not have happened. It is vey damaging for the body and creates a lot of adhesions. Dr Stephen Chang charged a very handsome fee for this procedure. If Stephen Chang suggest a liver transplant, I suggest you ask him how many transplant surgery he has done. Stephen Chang likes to post online and writes the longest introduction about himself which unfortunately was how I got to know him. A good , high volume surgeon who likes to post may likely publish the number of surgeries he has done. If you must see this surgeon I will suggest you bring a recorder and tell Chang you will be doing a recording of his diagnosis and treatment methods. Do also ask Chang if there are many other surgeons who goes against him and his methods . Do seek a second opinion from other high volume senior surgeons or SGH , NUH.
