New bistro in the hood - Grand 8 Bistro at Grand Link Square. Saw the shopfront from afar and decided to give it a try. Ordered the Angus Steak and King Salmon and both were really good. The empty plates in the pic speak for themselves. The Angus steak was very tender and juicy and there’s something different with the way that it was cooked. It was really very tender and doesn’t feel like the usual grilled steak texture. Same goes for the salmon, the skin was very crispy and the salmon itself was very juicy, not dry or flaky at all. Kind of feels as if the steak/salmon were cooked sous vide before grilling/pan frying. The fries that came with the steak was very nice. Crispy (not hard) and soft/fluffy on the inside, without feeling or smelling oily. The miso red wine sauce was good as well, tasted like it was made with the steak’s natural jus. The salmon came with mashed potato that was nice and smooth. The mango sauce for the salmon was good as well. Had wanted to try their lobster as there is 30% opening promo now but unfortunately they ran out of lobster for the day. Will come back again to try the lobster. They have a long list of alcoholic drinks including many beers from home grown Red Dot Brew House. Didn’t try as the missus and I are not big alcohol fans. There’s indoor and alfresco dining area and it’s located beside Honey Night and Little Vietnam, the other popular eats in the same building.

Nice outdoor seating spot with high tables and chairs, attentive service. With happy hour pints of beer are at $9.90 so good for people who are just there to drink. However we dislike the beers from red dot brewery that were served. Quite flat and not particularly chilled. Also, the food price is pretty steep (if you don’t count their 30% opening offer) and they don’t have a number of items on the launch menu. We tried the steak and felt the texture is rather weird honestly. Mushroom soup is ok. Peri peri prawns good but pricey. Hopefully when they serve up the full menu it would be much better.

Nice cosy little bistro with alfresco parisian vibes and friendly smiles..had their tandori pomfret which the owner recomended, washed down with a very nice bottle of moscato..Tandori pomfret was as advertised, very fresh and well marinated and grilled. Will be back to try other dishes, for sure.

Went there on a wet evening, so it was cool & breezy. Love the food and the outdoor dining. The bryani was done right and butter chicken was great with garlic & cheezy naan.
