Not much option left when I reached the stall at 10am. 1. Ang Gu Kueh (peanuts) - I like the filling, but the skin is too thick to my liking. 2. Yi Bua - chewy. The mixed coconut, sesame and gingery filling is very interesting and addictive. Note: I am not a Hainanese, hence cannot judge the authenticity of the food.

Fans of Hainan Yi Bua, this is the place you should come down and try. Hand made freshly everyday. Flavorful with every bite. Skin is slightly chewy but soft. Randomly tried its dumplings, it was really good as well. Support traditional food, even more so as they are good.

Tried the hainan laksa. It was quite different from the usual laksa. Sort of sourish. Less coconut oil. Ok, but not to my liking.

My first Yi Bua. Yummy. Will come back again to tabao.

The Hainan laksa is nice. I ordered beehoon laksa and the beehoon is thin and soft, soaked up laksa sauce well. Laksa sauce has nice coconut milk aroma but not spicy enough.

First time trying Yi Bua after reading about it over the years. It can piping hot and the texture was slightly chewy. The filling was grated coconut. Good to try as it is a diminishing trade that makes them.

Tried the hainan laksa, not as lemak as most laksa in Singapore. Quite nice if you prefer one that doesn't have too much coconut milk.

海南小吃 薏粑(Yi Bua, Hainanese pronunciation) is a nostalgic traditional snack. Like this Yi Bua (S$1.30), glutinous rice cake that is chewy in texture. The ingredients of palm sugar shredded coconut with ginger and tangerine peel are fragrance and not too sweet. Suggest that you make reservation in advance (refer to the phone number in the image) to avoid disappointment. We also ordered the Hainanese laksa (S$3.50). If you prefer laksa that is not as lemak, you may want to give it a try.
