โ โ โ โ โ The galbi tang aka beef short ribs soup is a big disappointment. At $33 inclusive of tax and service charge, it is too expensive for a common staple in Korea. The soup tasted a bit like normal beef soup, not much of the sweetness of bones. I think the beef quality is good, with some fats but I think it can be stewed further to get softer. I found a piece of ginseng root in the soup, and a couple of red dates but sadly the ginseng taste in the soup is negligible and the dates are clearly a "garnish" because they are still wrinkled and hard, not boiled in the soup to bring out its flavour.
The radish kimchi is a letdown, it's been fermented for a few days, I was expecting the light crunchy ones made fresh.

โ โ โ โ โ Serves a wide variety of korean dishes. One will be spoilt for choices. The price can be quite pricey. We ordered a small pancake, a samgyetang set and a cold buckwheat noodle (Naengmyeon)
The pancake and samgyetang is pretty average, nothing to fuss about. The banchan were quite meh thou.
My favourite dish i would be the Naengmyeon. Personally i find it quite refreshing and light on the palate. But hubby finds it otherwise. I guessed its an aquired taste.
This place seems to be very popular. A queue was spotted during dinner time on a weekday. I guess if you are in the hood and craving for some authentic korean food, do give them a visit!
Total damage: $71 for 2 pax

โ โ โ โ โ Reading the mixed reviews of this place, decided to give it a shot out of curiosity that this place has been established for a while.
Went for lunch and ordered bibimbap and kimchi fried rice. For the price charged, we expected much more, instead the servings and banchans are what you can see in the photos.
The 2 stars go to the side dishes which is really great, but thatโs all. The kimchi fried rice was terrible. It felt, at least to my tastebud, like white rice that was just mixed with kimchi with nothing else and without even being fried. There wasnโt any sign it was being fried, and perhaps when it was prepared they forgot to even put salt, all you can taste is just bland flat kimchi and rice. I had to request for salt to continue finishing the meal.

โ โ โ โ โ Probably one of the lowest I have given a korean restaurant.
Food: ordered ox tail soup and pork bean paste soup. Veg, onions and potatoes were more than the meat (not more than 4 slices) Soup was not flavorful and was kinda bland. The side dishes are not refillable and probably a spoonful each.
Service: is better than the food but not able to salvage at all.
Price: almost $50 in total... so nay.. definitely not going back.

โ โ โ โ โ The pork belly was fresh and sweet, it has a good balance between fats and lean meat. And I like it that the meat was grilled over charcoal giving it that smoky crispy outer layer with the juices locked in. The one that stole the show for me was the kimchi :) Homemade, well-balanced and perfectly fermented.

As usual, it's disappointing.
Total I paid $71.90 something.
I dunno what I ate. I ordered Ginseng chicken soup set. I am pretty sure the chicken soup is package one.
And beef bulgogi seriously too small portion for 2. side dishes quality are also bad.... cold and dry.
Never ever go there again.
I feel quite sad because I wasted my money...

โ โ โ โ โ Awesome food, good variety and delicious authentic Korean food. The charcoal wood fire used to barbeque the juicy meat selection was wonderful. Service was great and good attention was given even though we had a group dining. Will definitely be back for more.

โ โ โ โ โ The army stew tastes so bland. The meat, even though is marinated, has very hard texture. It's not like normal army stew meat - where its sliced meat. This place serves minced meat.
The kimchi fried rice is so tasteless. Just look at the colour.
Disappointing.
