I first got to know Bee, the owner of Haute Cakes Singapore, when I was scrolling through social Media, Instagram to be exact. I found her work of art amazing and rare! Yes, I've seen cakes that are gorgeous all the time but Bee's talent is a whole new level. Her work on her sugar botanic flower art is so detailed and precise I knew one day I needed to try her cake! Just last week it was my partner's birthday so I decided to seize this opportunity to try one of Bee's Cakes!! The whole process was clear and easy and Bee was very accommodating towards me in terms of accepting my super last minute order. I had the cake slightly customised to my liking in terms of appearance and taste. Taste- I had a chocolate flavored cake with raspberry conserve and rose buttercream (For any pink lovers, you guys might want to check this flavor out!! The cross section of the cake was perfect as it had pink fillings!) I love Bee's cake so much because it doesn't give off the "jelak" taste (sick of eating it after awhile). The sweetness of the cake was perfect for me as it was complimented with the raspberry conserve. Best part about the cake? It's after taste of the rose buttercream! I was blown away, did not expect rose to ever taste this good! Some even said the rose buttercream tasted like bandung. Appearance - I had the cake customised in terms of how it looked especially since I know Bee specialise in botanic flower art, however since it was a cake for a male, I wanted it to be less feminine haha. So instead she drew something else for me - BIRDS! Let's be honest, have you ever seen a cake with birds on it? and when I say birds, I mean sugar art birds?? not fondant birds at all?? The birds were detailed and gorgeous! Almost looked like they were real (Im not even joking!!) The coolest part about it, you can actually keep the birds/ branches/ flowers afterwards. ( Bee sent a whole aftercare instruction menu so i'll be able to keep at home - How thoughtful!) Price - Her cake is affordable considering the fact that you're paying for a high quality cake. One bite of the cake and you'll be able to tell straight away that Bee only uses the best ingredients in town! If you wish to succumb to a cheap cake then yes of course I believe you'll pay according to what you get. But I highly recommend EVERYONE to try Bee's cake at least ONCE in your life - you won't regret it! Ps. Im not sponsored by Haute Cakes Singapore! I ordered my wedding cake from Bee. She was a dream to work with! I gave her a few pictures of my wedding flowers, location and overall atmosphere of my wedding and she did all the rest. She even gave me a full proposal deck with notes about the design, size, flavours etc. before proceeding. I was honestly quite amazed. Not to mention everyone loved the taste of the cake, almost everyone asked where we got it from.
