Had shorten and made it smaller at the bottom for my T.M. Lewin suit pants. All done in 1 hour plus. Workmanship is good too, as she has experience with making suits.

The best seamstress!! Helen is most comfortable in Chinese but if you trust her and give her some time to explain the alterations to you, she will get it done. She’s very experienced and creative with solutions, and she knows dressmaking very well and will tell you if what you want can’t be done. Sometimes I go to her with a request and she will tell me of other things she will do to ensure the piece fits better. A sampling of the more complex alterations: - reduce waist, length and width of work trousers - reduce waist, bust and back of a work dress (lined) - shift up the shoulders of a heavy fabric lined work blouse - reduce the sleeve width of a slight batwing sleeve, involving unpicking the entire shoulder instead of just cutting the sleeves so that my range of movement is not affected. She also altered the back out of her own volition. - expand waist of a DVF skirt - adding a small piece of elastic to a pleated skirt which required releasing pleats so that it would look cohesive What she’s refused to do: - expand the waist of a vintage sheath Armani dress that was made of one entire piece of fabric without seams - she told me to lose weight instead lmao. She takes holidays in May and June so call during these months to save yourself a wasted trip down.
