Best place to buy coffee or tea. Big portion with reasonable price. Will be long queue on weekday morning, but queue move very fast. Alot of food and snack as well. Highly recommended!

This was soooo worth it! Huge, hearty portion of freshly sliced fish in a flavourful soup! The fish roe is really fresh too! Follow me on IG @HeyLimPeh for more food recommendations!

The two most common food in CBD is salad and fish soup, and we've no lack of good fish soup at this area - Piao Ji (Amoy), Han Kee (Amoy), Yi Jia (Maxwell), Jin Hua (Maxwell), Hup Lee (Arcade, Raffles Place). After being a regular at all the other fish soup stalls above for the past 9 years, I was introduced to this stall by Felicia, and I've been coming here quite often. This one at Shenton House is sweeter and usually saltier (salt level varies), it reminds me of the fish steamboat 鱼头炉 by Nan Hwa Chong, which uses yam and bian yu for the flavour. Fish were fresh and firm, and portions were generous. If your schedule allows, come before 12pm on weekdays, or anytime on weekends before 2:30pm (they close around then).

Great stop-by for reasonably priced mixed veg rice stall food. Considering that CBD food tends to be expensive due to the atas restaurants all around, this is one of the few that offers cheap food for those who is not willing to pay a lot for their meals.

The portion is huge. Which would you prefer $6 with small & thin cuts of fish or $8 with thick & plentiful pieces ? Each bowl comes with ample seaweed, tofus, yam & vegetables. The bowl is as big as my toilet basin. There’s option for other types of fish too. They provide 2 types of chilli. Red cuts padi & Chicken rice types. Both mixes well with the fish soup. Its a bit expensive but it’s really worth it. It closes early. Be there before 430pm. Opens daily.

They have one of the most amazing fish soup I've ever tasted! Don't be deterred by the price of 8.00... You will get what you paid for!

They no longer sell the smaller portion at $6, only $8 portion is available. Much lesser crowd after Covid, faster and easier to find a seat within the Coffeeshop. One of the only fish soup (Coffeeshop single portion type) that still serves with dried fish, seaweed, fried yam, lettuce, tomato, tofu. Most of those from Coffeeshop only comes with bittergourd and tofu. Overall it’s worth a visit to give it a try and make up your mind whether you will like it. Will not be disappointing.
