Great place to start the walk along the green corridor. Convenient to park and walk from there. Also this is an interesting heritage estate to explore.

Really, this is a small piece of a large history of Singapore- the old Queenstown housing estate, the former railway-line-now-greenway, the adjacent old Colonial style buildings, and the not-so-distant high-tech *-polises at Buona Vista.

Update 29/9/21: the bumpy pavements are eradicated (towards tanglin halt)!! Update 10/9/21: construction for 2 out of 3 rough bump pavements is in progress!! Looking forward to cycling on the smooth pavements!! Those bumps make cycling very scary and dangerous lol! ? Entrance to rail corridor through identification of this marker! There are 2 stretches of rough bumpy road along the rail corridor… Avoid weekends as it’s insanely crowded. Weekdays are way quieter, and lesser inconsiderate people. Also, super dark at night cause there’s no street lights, 800 lumens front light is highly recommended..!!!! :o

The Greenway has been reopened in this area and has a Red surface which is great for the kids to practice Cycling. New trees will provide better coverage in the next few years

Tanglin Halt! A major part of Singapore's housing and Industrial history. In the early 60's a light industrial estate was planed and it has developed in a successful business hub until the mid 1980's. From here we have the Train from Kuala Lumpur having the 'Tanglin Halt stop'. Commonwealth was announced as the 1st housing complex outside the city by the SIT (Singapore Investment Trust) which was later replaced by the HDB. The first late 50, early 60's houses were 3 Story buildings and later in 1962 the famous 10 story Flats known as 'chup lau chu' built and in 1967 featured at our bank notes. The industrial estate is long gone and so is the Railway station and in a latest move the Housing estate is also waiting for demolition. Now we have the Rail corridor bringing us along Tanglin halt.
