The Civilian War Memorial is located at the center of the park as a memorial to civilians who died in Singapore during World War II. It is managed by the National Parks Board.

It's a great place to just sit and read a book. Hear the sounds of water rushing from the fountain. The sheet size of the monument serves as a reminder of the atrocities of war.

It is great that they placed this in the CBD instead of some fringe area (I'm looking at you kranji war memorial). It's nice to be able to sit at Lady M and stare out pensively at this obelisk and reminisce what it was like during the horrible times in the early 1940s, while enjoying your tea and millefeuille. V	Victor Morais on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ War Momorial. Dedicated to people who lost their lives during World War 2. It has a beautiful, shady park where you could spend time with your family. You have accessibility to public transport and MRT. This location is a central location for most of the tourist attractions in Singapore.

It's a peaceful place to sit, with granite benches on all four sides, and a grassy area surrounding that helps dampen the roadway nose from the traffic on all sides. I personally enjoy coming here at night. The monument is a striking bright white, is well lit and really stands out against the dark night sky. The base is surrounded by fountains which are also lit at night. Take a walk around the entire monument, and note each of the languages in Singapore are represented.
