★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Should be Sang Nila Utama found the kingdom of Singapore, and the first foreigner to discover was the Yuan dynasty's Wang Dayuan who built diplomatic relations with the kingdom, so not Stamford Raffles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice place to visit , I’m a little surprised by the inscription , which hasn’t been changed. If you go during sunrise you can see joggers exercising.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Today 6.2.1819 Sir Stamford Raffles, known as the founder of Singapore reached the shore. He was definitely instrumental in the development of the modern Singapore. During his time he gave Singapore a structure, Administarion and established a major trading port which still today is an essential asset to us!
The 38 year young Raffles came to Singapore as Lieutenant-Governor of the Dutch East Indies company.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Easily a great place to bring kids here.
If you have the "I can" book for toddlers, this is the place to do the proud and tall pose.
Book is attached for reference.
A short over to merlion park is also a great spot to take pictures with kids.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Saw this in early March before the Lockdown. This statue stands in tribute to Sir Stamford Raffles, the British statesman regarded as the founder of Singapore. The statue depicts Raffles standing upright, his arms folded and he is looking over to his right, into the distance with a slight smile on his face. I admire the sculpture, but not the material it’s made out of, which looks cheap. This is one of many statues and sculptures on the promenade of Boat Quay and worth a quick look especially if you're wandering around Boat Quay.
