I’ve a bit too much of an appetite when it comes to anything that’s mala / mala tang (basically all things spicy AND elevated with pepper corn). (Pictured) top bowl is mine and bottom bowl is my girl friend’s. She was in awe with the size and of course corresponding difference in bill. This house carried a decent mala tang. I won’t mind having it, but -1 star as I’m pretty unbiased when it comes to mala / mala tang and I don’t think I’ll crave for it — unlike that from 杨国福 (Yang Guo Fu) and 張亮 (Zhang Liang).

Ordered the bone broth 骨汤 and it is very flavourful but light. This costs 16.79 for a rather filling serving and a giant bowl. Will revisit again!

Soup version of mala! Overall not too bad. But not super wow also. Good eat nonetheless! Place is small, clean and cosy. Can get popular during lunch time and weekend!

Absolute tasty spicy soup! 小辣 ?? And the only 麻辣 place I've been eating in Singapore. One thing to note is they only have it in soup, not your usual dry 麻辣香锅. Certain promotions on certain time of visit but have to get through 3rd parties. Very fresh & quality ingredients!

Came on a wed late afternoon (2:30pm), shop was almost empty. Ordered the spicy soup (without the 麻 sauce) Had a pretty good and filling experience, soup abit salty but flavourful (do have it with the 嘛 sauce for additional shiok factor), but I believe the law of diminishing marginal utility applies still, and we didn't manage to finish the soup :)

Surprisingly delicious mala tang in Orchard! Humble shop with decent selections of ingredients. Hong Tang stands out from a certain mala tang chain because their broth packs the spice and punch that I'm looking for. So so flavourful and even the table next to ours could request for more mala soup at no additional cost.

Hidden in a corner of Cineleisure, it’s a good place to satisfy your malatang cravings in town. It’s a little pricey at $2.80/100g but given the location its still acceptable. I tried the mala soup base (xiao la), and it was just right, not too spicy or numbing. Soup and service was so much better than Gong Yuan, but I think my favourite is still Yang Guo Fu. They have a homemade mala dip too so if the soup is not spicy enough for you, you can always try their dip!
