Hua Ji Bao Dang - 115 Bukit Merah View

Amazing baos!

Don't look at the one and only photo of this place, it's not a tent and is misleading. We came to Bukit merah view food centre and gave this stall a try. We bought both the char siew bao and lotus paste bao. They were rather tiny, the skin were really thick but the charsiew meat piteously little, they use lots of charsiew sauce in the bun hoping to replace the piteous amount of charsiew meat which is pathetic. The lotus paste were not smooth nor refine, you would find much better lotus paste elsewhere, in this day and age you'd be surprised such quality still survived . Though the prices are equivalent to Swee Choon the taste and ingredients are not comparable and Swee Choon is a dimsum restaurant. You can tell not many local residents buy from this stall.
