A fantastic ambience paired with finely made desserts and drinks. Matcha quality is good with authentic bitterness. The Hojicha Petit Gateau was delicious with it's slightly crunchy exterior. Slightly pricey for the serving portion, but it's expected for a Japanese cafe with good taste.

The Japanese setting in the cafe makes it very cosy. Great selection of tea and matcha themed desserts. They have vegan options too which is great. Very nice place to chill and chat with friends

One of my favourite cafes! I love their drinks and desserts; be it ice cream or cakes they are so rich and decadent. The ambience is lovely too, a nice place for catch up with friends or even a date.

Located at the corner of 111 Somerset is one of Hvala's cafes in Singapore. The concept of Hvala is as an Art Café, where artists are invited to display their works and put them up for sale, as well as welcoming one and all, including new artists, to meet and share their thoughts and ideas over tea and cakes. The open layout of the café creates space for relaxing and exploration of ideas. This makes the café a great place to relax and chill without having to speak loudly to be heard. Together with the wonderful artisan drinks, such as the Genmaicha Latte and the Goma Mont Noir Tart, make this place worthy of many many returns and date nights for the lucky ones. General Verdict: Art Café with open space concept that is welcoming and relaxing. Drink and desserts here are good too. Opening Hours: Daily 12pm-9:30pm Queue Situation: About 15 to 30 mins for a seat. Reservations not taken. Price: SG$8-SG$15 per person Payment Mode: Credit/Debit Card from Mobile Ordering & Payment kiosk Items Ordered: 1) Goma Mont Noir Tart - Made with vegan cream, sesame feuilletine, sesame chestnut paste, almond frangipane Description: Nutty & Robust with delicate roastiness and sweetness. Yummy with a hint of sesame. Verdict: Very Good, Must Order Price: SG$8.80++ 2) Item: Genmaicha Latte (Hot) - A shot of toasty and nutty Genmaicha (roasted rice + green tea) layered onto fresh milk and slightly sweetened by default Description: A unique flavour mix that is enjoyable but may be better cold than hot Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$5.80++/SG$6.80++ (Hot/Iced)

Finally managed to visit this Hvala outlet. The queue is always very long on weekends but got lucky this one time. As always, the interior is always very zen and relaxing but I still find the keong saik outlet to be the nicest. First time trying the cake, very strong matcha flavor but somehow didn’t feel like the layers go well together. Still would recommend to have the sponge sliced cakes.

The zen-like decorations were pleasing and provided a unique dining experience. However, the place was crowded which spoiled the overall ambience (avoid the peak periods!). The drinks were average.

Located in TripleOne Somerset. This is opposite 313 Somerset. Alternatively you can reach here via the MRT directly via underpass. Seating is limited given the current COVID-19 restrictions. Some of the seats can be rather awkward if you don't mind (we didn't). You order your food through the kiosk (not staff or cashier), and then the staff brings it to you. Wanted to try the matcha petit but sadly it was sold one. Matcha all things here with the very authentic taste. Will be back!

Love the smokiness of the iribancha. The hojicha ice cream and chewy waffle was refreshing for a hot day. The ordering kiosk could be better designed to be less congested. And the sofa seats weren't at a comfortable height for eating.
