I have been learning mandarin from YY for the past three years and moved with her to International Mandarin. When I started class with YY my knowledge was very basic but it has improved greatly under YY’s teaching. On a weekly basis, YY always keeps the material interesting, useful and practical. The school in International Plaza is new and has a nice and bright environment for my classes. Thank you YY for continuing to teach me and see you next week for class!

I've been learning mandarin (private lesson for adult professional) for almost a year now with YY. I discussed with her before starting the class of my primary objective: to be able to read, write and compose Chinese phrase in a structured manner. She customised my learning material to accelerate the learning towards that. We first started with pinyin but quickly move to hanzi. By now, I'm able to read and structure the words (in hanzi) correctly when composing complete sentences. She also patiently corrected my tone whenever I did it wrong so I can now speak it with confidence. Learning with her is fun! She's an excellent teacher and have a deep understanding in both linguistic and Chinese culture. Interestingly she also very well verse the latest Singapore MOE (Ministry of Education)'s teaching standard for Primary School and handling young children very well too... and now, she teaches both myself and my little daughter in another 1:1 session to help my daughter perfecting her mandarin study apart from her primary school class. Thank you YY Laoshi for taking a good care on both of us!!

I have been having Business Chinese lessons taught by Ms Huang Yan Yan 老师 for past 5 months. She is one of the best teachers I have ever met. She is so passionate about teaching, extremely patient and always showing concern for her students. Not only that, she is highly linguistic, excellent in command of both Chinese and English. For someone like me who fears Chinese as a subject since school days, she makes the lessons so interesting, relating to cultures, changing business and economics environment, etc., which has made me start loving Chinese as a subject. I always look forward to the lessons with her. For those who want to learn Chinese as a subject and at the same time, learn about China's culture, business, economic environment, etc., I would highly recommend International Mandarin Pte Ltd and personally endorse Teacher Huang Yan Yan who is highly competent and experienced in teaching individuals or groups as well as foreign students who may have to pick up Chinese as a school subject or those whose jobs required some Chinese knowledge. I have also signed up my 14 year old child for the lessons with Teacher Huang Yan Yan. Like me, she has started to learn to like and enjoy Chinese as a subject.

Huang Laoshi is not only a teacher but someone you can have friendly conversations with on anything from work to personal. She is also sincere and genuine in ensuring her students learn and absorb as much as possible. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking for a 1-1 lesson.

Laoshi YY taught my husband and I Mandarin in private lessons twice weekly for a year. She taught us at a pace that suited us well, pushed us just the right amount, gave us lots of cultural insights, has a great sense of humour, and is a phenomenal teacher. We always looked forward to our lessons on Monday and Thursday mornings. Laoshi YY takes her student care very seriously, and she went above and beyond to teach us and to make sure we were happy. I had a pleasure of learning and improving my Chinese at International Mandarin for my IB Diploma. Huang Lao Shi is a well-organised, encouraging and inspiring teacher, who dedicates time and effort into her students by providing materials and endless support to help achieve their best. Not only did I improve my capabilities in speaking, writing, listening and reading Chinese, but also her teaching style and optimistic attitude helped boosted my confidence and love for this language. I would definitely recommend her to any student about to start or currently studying Chinese for the IB diploma.

Huang Lao Shi is an excellent Chinese teacher who also has a strong command of the English language. She ensures that her teaching content is tailored to the student’s needs, making it a highly effective learning process.
