J8 Hotel - 8 Townshend Rd

Nice & economical hotel , with friendly staff , milities breakfast menu , near to many shopping malls including Mustafa center

Not worth the pricing tiny dingy not clean rooms hallway smelt of cigarettes and mould . Only good thing about this place is that staff are nice.

Rooms are tooo small, feels more like a dungeon. But accessible to the other main places and metro stations around, which is very useful. In 5-10mins walking distance

They promised parking which then was unavailable when we first arrived. The AC leaked during our first night and we were told to mop it up with towels. They claimed our daughter wasn't entitled to the breakfast that was included in our booking and blamed Booking.com for the misinformation(they then waived the breakfast charge). They triple chraged us for our stay - the receptionist insisted that we pay upfront when we checked in and charged my husbands credit card twice. They on the morning of our checkout day, they charged my credit card that Booking has on file too. The staff were utterly unprofessional and useless in trying to sort out the situation. We still don't know if we'll get our money back.

Rooms and around the hotel was quite clean but however do find some drawbacks as follows: 1) Rooms and Bathrooms - Super small! Deluxe or whatever you can call it, do expect it to be small. 2) Food - Not that great, same breakfast during our entire stay for a week. 3) Staff - There was a old gent, who was very helpful and the cleaners are quite friendly as well, except for some short hair lady, she was bit fussy at times (example, if we decide to sit in an inside table and we want to change to an outside, she makes a fuss saying they cannot find us.. I mean it's not marina bay to have 100's of rooms and guests). 4) Accessibility - Perfect! Close by (500m or less) to all MRTs, Mustafa Centre, City Square Mall etc. 5) Value for Money - No other hotel around offered with Breakfast, but J8 did.

At J8 Hotel, rooms is too small and very bad room service. Staff is not co- operative , no room service , they have only 2-3 brakfast item only this hotel is not for vegetarians, hotel manager is very rude. I am giving rating in negative. In this hotel only location is good and in this same price we have many more best option. I will never stay again and never recommend anyone.

Nice location and cozy room but employee didn't wear mask at front desk, violate hotel prevention rules? and was so inpatient to reply questions. If you are ok to put yourself in dangerous contact, good to stay. They don't take your room service call unless you go to the front desk for help...., No hair dryer and slipper.

Issues: no room slippers, don’t provide glasses to drink water, there is no mini bar as shown in booking. a/c cooling is low. high in prices. in same price you can get better rooms with better services. staff just can’t help you with anything. only 1-2 staff people are nice. location is good.
