John is sincere and professional photographer. During the shot, he tries to remember our names, and that's 14 of us. Also, he shows great patience during our selection of photos when we come over his studio. The studio is cosy. The only slight inconvenience for the older folks is the extra staircase to climb to reach the studio.

We just had our pre-wedding shoot with John on 13 June and I must say we had a great time. This was, in large part, due to John, who impressed with his ability and personality. As such, to anyone looking for a photographer for a wedding shoot, these are some reasons why John's the one. 1. Attention to detail - despite only returning from an overseas shoot a day before, John was professional to a fault and insisted on getting all shots right. From an elbow which should stick out a little more to a tilt of the chin, John went to great lengths to take the perfect shot. 2. Artistic flair - John has been in the business for some years now, but he was never winging it or just going through the motions. He had an eye for amazing photographs and took some breath-taking shots. 3. Personality - John was patient and all smiles throughout, despite some noob errors from us and occasional shenanigans. He was also humorous and that helped to relieve any tension (which is inevitable, let me tell you), as well as lighten the mood. 4. Clarity in communication - you won't realise how important this is, until you're in it, but we were so grateful for John's very clear instructions. This made it so easy for us to get to the correct spot, in the correct pose and in the correct mood. 5. Value for money - you pay for what you get, and we got so much. My pregnancy and birth journey was beautifully captured by John as part of the Maternity, Newborn and Family photo shoot. His professionalism transcends that of aestatics and art direction. Despite his seeimingly quiet demeanor, the patient and passionate photographer took time to understand my needs and expectations. He then combined that with his eye for details and his creative magic. The results - a touching storyboard that captures my life-changing experience with raw and powerful emotions... All encapsulated in a specially curated canvas collage that is hanging on the wall of my dining area. John did not just take photos..he captures the best moments and turn them into mementos in the form of the photographs. A mastery of the art.

Our perfect Hindu matrimonial ceremony was perfectly captured by John at Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple . John was absolutely incredible to work with leading to our special day. It was not simply the moments that were captured but more than just that. Words can’t describe how happy we were to see our special moments even the tiny moments that were captured through John’s lenses. John made us feel comfortable , kept us composed and made us laugh. We could not be happier ? The photographs show how John went above and beyond to get such spectacular shots . Hands down to the nicest and very talented guy A.K.A John Lim to work with and have our shots taken ! It's hard to describe in a few words what a fantastic photographer John is. But I'll give it a go anyway. His photos are so stunning, and he has such an eye for detail. He manages to get the most amazing shots, and he see things that no one else even notices, yet these small details make all the difference to the finished shot. He's so creative. But ultimately, he really cares about his clients and goes above and beyond to ensure they get the absolute best for them. He's also amazing to work with, and I really enjoy our time together. Even when he makes me do crazy things for a shot. :) I highly recommend John to anyone looking for top quality photos, and a really nice, caring person to record their special moments.

I engaged John for a surprise proposal photoshoot since this was a once-in-a-lifetime event which I wanted to capture and memorialise. For someone who has never hired a photographer - and who was clueless about photoshoots in general -John was a godsend. I had a vision in mind and John executed it perfectly. From the planning stages to the big day itself, he was a steady hand throughout. Thanks again, John for the wonderful memories which you have helped create! Highly recommend to all (especially any other clueless gents out there)!

My wife and I did our wedding photoshoot with John. At first I was quite reluctant with the idea of photoshoot, but now I would highly recommend newly wed couples to John! 1. Rather than photographs, John captured our “story”. He helped us brainstorm ideas, and vividly recorded the happy moments that were truly unique to us. 2. John is genuine, down-to-earth and soft-spoken. We felt absolutely comfortable and being intimate in front of his camera. Thanks John :) We will come back for our maternity and baby shots (in the future ??)

One of the biggest regrets in my life was to have made the choice of having John Lim do our pre-wedding photoshoot. It took me a long time to decide if I should share this review but now that it has been a decade, this happened when his studio was still at Chinatown, and I have some distance from this incident, I felt it would be something I’d want to share. No doubt technically he is skilled but so are many other wedding photographers. I was having a bad day on the day of the pre-wedding photoshoot and my mood wasn’t the best, and that’s on me. However, that must have had an impact on John as he proceeded to do a whole photoshoot where only my husband’s face was in focus, and mine was blurred out time or only shot from the side angle. Even though I managed to reset and enjoyed the moment with my husband with lots of laughter, he did not have the courtesy to take a nice shot of me as the bride, and that’s just unprofessional in my opinion. Still, I had some photos up on my wall to remind myself to always keep my emotions in check because you never know when someone would retaliate in ways that could be this hurtful, especially when it’s a once in a lifetime moment. My purpose of sharing my story is to give fair warning to brides who are aware their emotions may run high on the day. To be honest, it’s hard to know in advance as it can be a stressful time leading up to the wedding. I just don’t want other brides to have to go through the same experience. But time has passed, and people grow and change. I’ve also learnt a lot about making a marriage work, which is more important than a pre-wedding shoot. I would still give 2-stars because thankfully he had outsourced our wedding day and banquet photography gig to a part-time photographer, and he was excellent! I cherish those photos of us and all our guests who had a good time with the celebrations on that day and that counts for something ?
