Kanopy Forest Preschool - 6 Jln Keria

I am honoured to be part of the ground team when Kanopy Forest Preschool was started. I worked under the Centre Director, Ms Ana and have known her for a while since I worked with her at her old centre. The centre at Kanopy was a translation of her vision and most of the children at Kanopy are families who have formed such wonderful relationships with the centre director. It is always a pleasure to work with Ms Ana, and i have learnt so much from her. The way the environment was set up as well as the inclusion of mindfulness practice for the children in the daily rhythm is extremely progresssive. Passionate about food, we also took time to ensure the children were fed nutritious food. Kanopy is a Forest Preschool so the outdoor advocacy is highlighted. It has been a pleasure, for sure.

I volunteered as a relief teacher in Kanopy preschool. It is a fun and engaging school for kids. The school had different corners which brings out different kind of talents from the kids. For example, music, drawing, colouring, painting, alot of books (English and Chinese), Engineering sector(things like Truck, spanners), and many more. Kid are always engaged into something which was very nice to see. I would definitely encourage kids to join Kanopy Preschool.

Kanopy Forest school is honestly the best preschool I’ve seen so far. In a busy environment like Singapore Ana created a lovely peaceful space for the kids. Wooden toys indoors; herbal garden, sensory play outdoors. The children are outside as much as possible and explore the parks near by. Every child is seen as an individual and Ana gets them all, she always has an open ear for parents and time for a cuddle for the kids

My 4yr old son enjoys outdoor play so when we were looking for a local preschool Kanopy was the obvious choice with its outdoor focused curriculum. Our son really enjoys exploring parks and discovering new flowers and plants. He also enjoys playing in the sand pit and climbing. And the teachers help him draw, build things and sing songs so he's always engaged. Overall it's a good progressive curriculum with good teaching staff. Would recommend for any parents looking for a more holistic schooling approach.

I visited Kanopy Forest Preschool with my child for their play sessions. The environment was really well thought of and was very conducive to the little ones. The staff were very responsive and spoke very respectfully to the children. The centre director was very knowledgeable about child development and gave lots of tips as we shared experiences with her. The outdoor set ups were very interesting and nature inspired. Would highly recommend this little gem.

I had the pleasure of doing some pedagogical observations over a period of three days with the centre director at Kanopy Forest Preschool. As an educator myself, I must say how impressed I was with the beautiful set up environment both indoors and outdoors that is a true testament to the Centre Director. The children’s voices were heard through beautiful documentation of their work. The conversations with the children were respectful, collaborative and inclusive. The children were taught to be autonomous and that it was apparent that this preschool advocates for child-led learning. Having worked in many centres in Singapore, I know that a success of a centre is only as the person running it. Kanopy Forest Preschool will be the leading preschool under Ms Ana and the children will benefit much from such responsive early childhood care and education that Kanopy offers!

Kanopy is a forest school so the children spent alot of time out exploring the nature parks and playing in their own "backyard" with the mud kitchen, sandpit and garden. They also minimise the use of air conditioning indoors. This combined with the daily dose of vitamin D from the sun seems to do my son's immunity good so he does not fall ill as easily as before. That said, they also do alot of interesting indoor activities like cooking (making healthy popsicles and dumplings), science experiments and mindfulness practice. Recently, they joined a gardening competition and my son was so excited about it. He describes how they used different soil for different plants and how the plant has grown from a seed into a toddler plant like him. Another major plus is that they have a Chinese teacher who speaks Mandarin with them the whole day every day (instead of short 30 mins lesson) so Mandarin is introduced more naturally. My 4yo son's Mandarin is not bad to begin with but now he knows words like 蝶豆花 and 大后天。 You also have to take a look at their menu! They serve a huge variety of fruits and wholesome food/sauces made from scratch instead of processed foods. Go visit them and see for yourself! Kanopy really is a wonderful school that I can't recommend enough. The only thing is that their fees is a little steep.

My son is 4 years old and is at Kanopy preschool. He gets to play at sandpit, mud kitchen, explore outdoor, climb tree for play and learn experiences he can't really get at home. Before joining Kanopy, my son is a very indoor kid and dont really like to get his shoes wet or shirt dirty. After joining Kanopy, he has no issue exploring the outdoor, and he is no longer afraid of the elements and i feel he is now fitter.
