β β β β β Not sure if it was their intention to have sustainability here as their theme but that was the message that I got as they served their courses and spoke about their food and tableware.
I loved how they took the effort to source sustainable food options and to support local farmers. I think slightly more can be desired from the taste of the food though. Nonetheless, it was a nice meal with good portions. Worth a try.

β β β β β Kausmo is a restaurant with a mission to communicate the message of thoughtfulness in a holistic manner.
.
With only 1 chef and 1 manager, the restaurant is cozy with an open kitchen concept. It's not only exciting to see the live-cooking demonstrations but also a very fun experience to be eating the same food across the whole table with all other guests and discuss the tastes together.
,
With its gourmet retail arm, the public can also get their hands on a range of seasonal products crafted in-house, that brings out the best in the ingredients. Some examples of what the team has produced so far includes the Kausmo Hot Sauce, Apple Butter Sauce, Mushroom Pates and BBQ Berry Sauces.
.
βΌοΈ Pro tip: Make sure you arrive 15 minutes early to check out their fun kombucha, sauces and hand-crafted plates & coasters ! Each meal course is served at the same exact time for all guests, so you won't want to miss the serving and the descriptions of the dishes.

β β β β β Small and cosy, Kausmo is tucked away in Scotts Centre such that one might miss if you donβt look for it closely. I really enjoyed the restaurantβs emphasis on using local produce and their efforts at sustainable cooking. Enjoyed the walnut bun, charred chorizo kale, wagyu chuck eye, and pumpkin beignet the best. Was slightly disappointed with the congee as it did not pack much flavour. I also did not like its texture but thatβs my personal preference.
Noted that Kausmo changes their menu every three (?) months to switch things up. They also serve and sell their home made kombucha which flavours change from time to time. My mom throughly enjoyed their kombucha.
Felt that service could be a lot warmer for their small team of two. Nonetheless, it was good enough for a good experience overall.

β β β β β Superb 6-course meal being served with passion. We could feel the effort being put into not only the food but also the establishment itself. Cozy place, great food, very nice owners. We'll definitely return again ??

β β β β β Had a delightful meal at Kausmo for my birthday and I am so glad I chose this place.
The space is small and extremely non-pretentious. Just good food focusing on respecting the ingredients and minimising waste.
Each dish was well balanced, creative, thoughtful.
Iβll definitely return. Highly recommend to everyone.

β β β β β Had a thoroughly enjoyable time dining at Kausmo last weekend. Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and we really enjoyed our dining experience. The food was thoughtful, dining experience non-pretentious. Each dish was served with intent and ingredient chosen with purpose.
I would recommend getting the Kombucha flight to go along with your meals. My favorite one in particular would be the Buckwheat variant. Overall a good experience, will be back soon :)

β β β β β This place has character and charisma. I love the concept but feel the experience is still in its "youth" and will get even better. Chef Lisa has talent and executes the menu well but still a lacks a bit of confidence and experimentation given the concept. Nonetheless, i feel the food is well executed and approachable. The chef understands the materials and conceptualises the menu well. Presentation is elegant and simple (character). I think the explanations are well appreciated albeit at some times a bit "pitchy". I would recommend you bring a bottle because there isn't much of a wine list and the food merits a nice wine. I feel Burgundies or loire would go relatively well. Parking in Shaw is not my favorite. The venue is cozy and lighting is good, i thought it could be a tad dimmer. For the quality of the meal at its price point, i feel its really good value. Sincerely worth a visit.
