Koo Kee - Bukit Panjang Plaza

Extremely noisy environment, very frustrating to dine here. The outlet manager in red shirt who is visiting, holds his discussion loudly and flirts with the Chinese female staff in his shrilly voice! On other occasions, the rest of the staff and the red shirt man are seen shouting across the tables and counters, airing their thoughts, as if no customers are around. Furthermore, there are a few houseflies in the shop! First and last time here, that’s it!

Started to frequent this establishment, initially cos of the 20% discount promo for July 2019 but realised that there has been improvement in food quality. That little bowl of soup given with dry noodles order is actually getting rather tasty. I seriously doubt adding monosodium glutamate can give flavorful body to the soup. Never felt like ultra thirsty after a meal here and my locks of hair are still intact. My favourite is the yong ta fu with chee cheong fun, reason being the drizzling of light soy sauce and sesame oil together with white sesame seeds over this dish evokes a taste of nostalgia. The soft cheong fun is also tasty. Another recent favourite is the laksa yong tau fu. They have tweaked the laksa gravy such that there is no overpowering curry powder smell, the gravy is not too dense or thick with overdose of Kara coconut cream and you can actually drink it as you would do to a Penang laksa gravy. The 20% discount is a push factor for freqenting them but I suppose thereafter I can stll go there to satisfy my laksa craving, if this current standard remains.

Ordered curry chee cheong fun was tasty but the iced coffee tasteless, water more than coffee.

Very fresh and delicious Yong Tau Foo. The noodles are soft and great flavor.

Attitude of the current China cashier is bad and rude. Ate on Nov 4 at 12.30pm. Regretted. Spolit my makan experience. Koo Kee hires such people ? Food is still good. Not worth coming back to this place.

Horrible for her laksa! I keep choking when eating the noodle with super thick chilli oil! The laksa is tasteless, without laksa leaves and thin coconut milk. I can buy more better one in similar price. See, I can get small plate of oil. I ordered laksa but not chili oil....

Instead of the typical YTF, I went for the laksa YTF and Chee Cheong Fun. Surprisingly good.

Food: 4/5 Service & Convenience: 1/5 Only cash payment accepted. Visited during CB phase 2 at lunch break hour 1230pm. When we got there there wasn't any seats available and we had to stand and wait for like 10min for people who take their own sweet time (especially families with children who think its their home and watch videos and play with their kids, or single persons who sit at 2 tables). If you're just 2 persons dining in, your luck will run low at peak periods. Service by the china woman cashier is bad. Be prepared with exact cash payment or be demanded spare coins with a lousy attitude and tone. The china staff speaks only chinese by default and minimal english. Also wait to get shouted at when your food is ready for collection at the counter. We ordered their lunch promo - $12.80 for 2 YTF sets, 1 veg side dish (kangkong), choice of 2 drinks or 2 desserts (or 1 drink and 1 dessert). Food: The noodles were Q and cooked to the right texture, topped with minced meat. The soup's taste was just right and not salty, the yong tau foo ingredients were good too. Overall worth the price. Dessert: The beancurd skin ginkgo barley dessert was very nice too. Drinks: Lemonade was grey in color unlike their menu photos. Could be just syrup.
