โ โ โ โ โ Your typical food court arena, but it is located underground of SMU so it is cleaner and lively during the day.
I ate at Mixed veg rice stall and food was good. I got the brown rice with 1 meat and 2 veggies which came out to $4.70 SGD. If you befriend a student you get the student discount.
It a place worth checking out and you get to check out the University.

โ โ โ โ โ Long queues at every stall after covid wiped out half the tenants. Ordered caifan and was charged a mind boggling $7.10. +1 star for the teh at a more palatable $1.10

โ โ โ โ โ A koufu as usual, students get a discount, which is great if you're a student (or tell them you are). Usually street dancers are dancing in the corridor outside Koufu in the evenings. So there's a free show if you're there around that time. Just don't attempt to give them money or feed them.

โ โ โ โ โ Was there around 3pm this afternoon. Few stalls were vacant. And only 4 stalls were open. Was thinking of eating the economic rice, but the stall had their dishes all laid out cold. And the server was too busy on his mobile phone rather then attend to me. So gave it a skip.

โ โ โ โ โ Ate there for the first time. Economy rice is our version of fast food. Cheap and good.
Created for blue collar workers during my childhood. But now the 2 or 3 meat + rice in one plate has become very popular among students and white collar workers too.
The choices of dishes has expanded since. And now they even offer brown rice.
If you don't mind eating everything in one plate with rice topped with either curry or other sauces, you will be delighted by the incredibly wide variety of typical Chinese traditional home-cooked dishes. And there is an economy rice stall in every food centre.
This one at SMU is good. Clean and fast.

โ โ โ โ โ Guess how much this is? For 1 potato dish and 1 chicken dish.
A whooping $3.55 for something as simple as a chicken and potato and gravy.
And their curry chicken doesn't even have potato, hence the extra oder of potato on the side.
Considering the fact that it is located in a school, you would expect this to be cheaper to cater to the students and the fact that their rent is subsidised.

โ โ โ โ โ My favourite place for breakfast whenever I am nearby. 1 minute walk from Bencoolen MRT Station.
Place is clean, service is good and food is fresh.
The staffs are all very friendly and Hard working.
