Cake is good but bad customer experience. They will answer, don’t have, can’t do it. Can they teach their staff some customer service? And help to make things happen for a Birthday celebration? Need a lot of patience to deal with them, yuzu cake is nice, but not sure if I have patience to go pass the ordering process.

Amazing homemade cakes. Family recipe, nice and light and fluffy. We will try the fruitcake next time :) Gentleman who answered the phone when we called was kind and polite.

Nestled in a secluded area of Upper Bukit Timah, it’s not the most accessible cake shop if you do not own a car. It is however, one of the best chocolate cake that I had so far : - Chocolatey, yet it doesn’t feel sinful - Moist, especially rare since chocolate is a dry ingredient - Spongy, really good mix of flour for it to be so soft to the touch, yet maintaining its shape/structure - Not gelak, unlike most others Having made something simple so good is really exceptional ??

I have savored this chocolate cake for ages. Almost 30 years ago, my mom first brought home the chocolate cake, I fell in love with it. The chocolate frosting was soft and creamy, just the right amount of sweetness. The chocolate layering inside was heavenly. Today, I believed the recipe has been tweaked; the sweetness has been reduced (I love it) and the moisture inside the cake is amazing. Soft, creamy and rich chocolate taste, I am still in love with it. For a simple “less” sinful chocolate cake experience, you must try Lana Cake. It’s truly the best.

Bought a 1.2kg cake for $55. Cake was moist and not overly sweet but it not very chocolatey. The frosting over the cake has a ?palm oil after taste which stays on the palate and not very pleasant.

Was looking forward to trying lana cakes after the great reviews and ordered it for my mum’s birthday. After picking up the cake, we went straight home, steadying it on the floor of the car as instructed. To our dismay, the top layer slid off (see picture), and there was no way of aligning it back as it was way too soft. Mum immediately called lana cakes and spoke with a manager called Raymund. To his credit, Raymund was responsive over call and text. To our frustration, he was focused on reiterating that the layer slid off because the cake was 'fresh'. To reach a resolution, Raymund offered two options: (1) we make our way back to the shop for a 1-for-1 swap if we wanted a decent-looking cake for the birthday that very day; or (2) we receive a 30% discount on our next purchase of a similar-sized cake. Neither of which were ideal given the circumstances (i.e. we had birthday plans; we won’t be visiting the shop again), nor was he open to other options (e.g. delivering a new cake to us). The cake remained mushy in spite of more than an hour in the refrigerator. During a second call to share our feedback, Raymund reiterated the 'freshness' of the cake - this did not make the situation any better. A few hours later, Raymund apologised, then later offered a full refund (citing various articles with good reviews of the shop). We accepted, and appreciated the eventual recognition. Unfortunately, this came a tad late and the customer relations experience left a stain on an otherwise happy day. Good quality food and service should speak for itself without the need for words or articles as justification. I hope the rest of you have better experiences with this shop.

The standard chocolate fudge (1.2kg) is not bad! It just needs a little more chocolate. It’s not too sweet too so anyone who doesn’t like very sweet stuff can appreciate it more.

My all time favorite cake. Every year my daughter will not fail me n I always made this special request, can order a bigger one. Always love you, @Lana
