Great place to experience India without going to India.

Little India gives you a very filtered and cleaner version of what real big India as a country is. Busy, crowded, noisy, business oriented, congested etc etc. This is one of many ethnic pockets in Singapore like Chinatown, Muslim Quarter and represents Singapore's multicultural immigrant and colourful neighborhoods.

Little India is a must see attraction of Singapore. If you’re open to learning, willing to embrace differences between cultures, open to experiencing flavours of India or perhaps wanting to find a gift for loved ones. You’re appreciate this place. Whilst it’s not the cleanest of areas within Singapore. Don’t let that put you off because you’ll end up missing out on some integral learning materials that will enhance your knowledge. If you love to travel because you appreciate cultures from around the world. You’ll be glad you took the time to visit Little India.

Well the name itself gives you an idea of what this place offers you - a glimpse and a taste of India in Singapore...!!! This place is known for the density of Indian food, products and culture found in Singapore. It has multiple Indian restaurants and food joints to satisfy your taste buds and cravings for Indian food. You will also find many souvenirs shops which offers the tourist attraction places in the form of key chains, magnets, home decor items, impressioned on hand bags and so on. Since we mentioned this place also offers Indian culture, it has a temple known by the name Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple on Serangoon road. Enjoy the Indian flavors and culture this place offers while you are there!

Little India is one of the most diverse place in Singapore to visit. The best time to visit would probably be 2 or 3 weeks before the Deepavali when you can enjoy the Deepavali light up ( Festival of lights). You could also try to visit it in the late afternoon when the weather is not too hot and it transits into the night so that you can experience both the day and night view of the place. Inhale the aroma of the different spices and wiggle through the amazing alleys in the vicinity. Will strongly suggest you roam around the outdoor streets and alleys only and not visit Tekka Place and Little India arcade. If you want to enjoy some authentic Indian candies and snacks you can shop at Little Indian arcade. The most interesting part is to trek along serangoon road where you can find plenty of goldsmiths, mobile gadgets, fashion and traditional clothing, Indian temples, toys shops and authentic Indian cuisine restaurant. If you really need to enjoy the air-conditioning, there are two major shopping centers for you to shop and dine @City Square Mall and the 24 hours Mustafa Shopping centre. I particularly enjoy the night view of the majestic Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple. Little India is indeed the most unique and vibrant district in Singapore that attracts lots of visitors. If you are bored of the same old shops in the malls, be adventurous and venture into the alleys of little India.
