β β β β β Ordered 150 dollars worth of food from Los Jefes for a party, arrived to pick it up, only to find that the owners were unaware we had made an order (through their website). They were relaxed to the point of unconcern. Everyone makes mistakes, but how you respond to them is what matters. No apology at all. Is that so hard?
As to the food. Taco bundle (5 pax) isnt worth it. Meat was tough and dry, condiments werent enough for 5 pax. White onions, not red! Tamales were good, burrito and coleslaw too, and are good value for money.

β β β β β I visited the NEWest Mall location. It is a sit down restaurant. This place is run by a Mexican boss. Burrito is hearty and filling with well seasoned rice and beans plus chicken. Tamales are also tasty. Prices are reasonable. $5 for a bottle of Corona beer.

β β β β β I shop here all the time for authentic Mexican Ingredients. They have fresh poblanos, and anything and everything you need to make an authentic meal, they also serve food, But I haven't yet tried it - I will be, however very soon. Francisco was very helpful in selecting the right products for our meal. One stop shop.
Follow Up:
Just got delivery.
- excellent packaging
- carefully assembled tacos not soggy, double tortilla. The best!
Thank you!

β β β β β You won't find better tacos in Singapore.
Something special about this place is that you can buy ingredients to make your own.

β β β β β We started eating at Los Jefes back when they were at Mt Sinai. Glad they've moved to NEWest because seating at the Mt Sinai premises was an issue. We've had various tacos, nachos and the chipotle meatballs and they are first-class! Love their horchata and fermented pineapple juice too-- the latter has an amazingly refreshing acidic kick. Supermarket has lots of good stuff like (good) mezcal, lime squeezers and Salsa Valentina, my favourite hot sauce of all time.

β β β β β Wow! Authentic flavors and exceptional service.
Got a lucky tip about this place from a German expat. And as much as I hate to admit, my Tex-Mex taste buds were sceptical. But I have to say once I stepped inside this tiny Latin market my nose was triggered by the wonderfully familiar aromas and then the friendly greeting by Francisco seemed as if we had known one another for some time.
The pork tamales and salsa verde took me back in to a taste I've missed since arriving in Singapore. And the fresh corn tortillas? Addictive. They also have Mexican cheeses like Cotija and Oaxaca as well as fresh peppers.
Yes as others have noted, the location is unexpected. Not difficult at all, but then you can always order directly from Food Panda or Uber Eats.
Now I look forward to cooking with their raw chorizo, cannot wait to taste!

β β β β β Experience: This is no longer a Mexican grocery store as itβs labeled on google! They are only open for carry out or deliver via their website. If you go with the intention of dining and buying groceries, you will be disappointed.
Ordered tacos and waited 45 minutes. Was given a βtaco kitβ with nowhere to eat it.
Food:
Pork belly tacos - Getting past the taco kit issue, the fact that the website pictures 3 tacos and you barely get enough to make 2... they are delicious. Excellent flavor for the meat and salsa verde.
Chips - just right crunch and flavor. Perfect!
Red salsa - Perhaps made for local or European taste. Almost no spice or acid. Basically just tomato flavor with a hint of onion and cilantro. The verde is MUCH better.
Thankfully, the tacos saved the experience. (Although, 2 tacos vs expecting 3 for $17 was disappointing) I hope the owner can fix the listing or open back up as a market as advertised. There are not many authentic options in Singapore. Great potential here.
