Standard n quality no longer the same. Chillies extremely salty, chicken in broken pieces ?

Rice is fragrant and chicken is well marinated and not too dry. The chilli however is very lacklustre and salty. Such a shame for an otherwise good plate of chicken rice.

It is really a good chicken rice, flavourful yet light. I feel the chilli is in a bit salty but quite balance with the garlic sauce

Loy Kee used to be one of my favorite stalls for steamed or soya chicken rice during my school days. Haven’t eaten from the stall for some time since there are many stalls now. The rice is far too salty now and looks like broken rice. Chicken is tender but plain as rice is saltier than chicken meat. Chili sauce is zero spicy with no punch. $4.50 for drumstick rice and $3.50 for chicken breast rice. Feels I am paying for the brand. In comparison, the other chicken rice stalls in the afternoon food centre won with better quality and value like Kampong Chicken Rice and Eastern Chicken Rice stalls. In times like this, good price and good taste matters more.

tried this chicken rice today but was quite disappointed with it. the chilli was super salty and not spicy at all, it’s literally like dipping the chicken in salt. the chicken was dry and not tender as well. not sure if the standard dropped because i don’t remember it being this bad, had it last time and thought it was not bad. giving 4 stars because the aunty attending to me was really nice and cute, so that made up for it.

They also selling porridge in the morning. Recommend to get the fish slice porridge which is very close to the traditional taste. Hard to find in Singapore.

Hainanese Chicken Rice + Gizzard. Loy Kee used to be at almost every food court at one point of time more than 20 years ago, but its good that they are still around as they are regarded as one household name for Hainanese chicken rice. I am interested to try their porridge offering though which sells out quite early in the day.
