Access: MRT Raffless Place, Exit G (UOB Plaza). After you got outside, go straight to the right for approx. 150m. No big signage for the mosque. A very strategic place if you visit raffless CBD area or about to have meal in Lau Pa Sat.

Nice air-conditioned masjid to do your afternoon prayers. It was 34 degree outside so, this underground mosque is just perfect for prayers and quiet contemplation.

Good place, clean, jamaah sholat always there, one of the best choice to sholat when visit the Merlion or Marina Bay. Note : this place is located in UOB Plaza Basement. So, take a turn around of UOB Plaza, then you'll find the sign & the way. Hopefully, this note could help you to find this mosque, because first I visit this mosque, I spend my times.

Moulana Mohamed Ali Mosque had its origins in Singapore at 16 and 18 Market Street, a pair of double-storey shophouses comprising an area of 1,660 sq. ft. These were purchased in 1953 and 1955 by 3 far-sighted gentlemen 1. Mohamed Javad Namazie 2. Haji Mohamed Khan 3. M. M. Abdul Wahab The three of them understood the need to have a place of worship in the central business district (CBD). In the late 70s and 80s, the business district was expanding rapidly, The then trustees of the mosque were faced with the reality of a probable widening of the road in Market Street which would probably have resulted in the property being acquired. Against this backdrop, which United Overseas Bank Limited ("UOB") had plan for a massive development which could not proceed because MMA was smack in the middle of it. UOB had bought up several properties surrounding the mosque for its intended development. After extensive negotiations, in June 1982, an agreement was entered into for the exchange of the two Market Street shophouses for the present mosque which comprises an area of approximately 6500 square feet in the 1st basement , 4 times larger than the existing site. This however is one of its unique features as not many of us have ever been to a mosque below ground level. The site for the mosque was handed over to the Mosque Management Board (MMB) in the early nineties. Much work went into fitting out the mosque which opened for prayers at the end of 1995 allowing the congregation to reap the fruits of labour of many volunteer who worked tirelessly to achieve this objective. Completed in 1994, it had a capacity for 350 people and the usually peaceful abode of tranquillity is transformed into a sea of worshippers clad in long-sleeved shirts and business ties during Friday prayer.
