Went to buy lunch on a quiet Monday. A couple of stalls were open but crowd was really non existent today. The market is very clean and dry but itโ€™s kinda devoid of any action even though the food Center is upstairs. Food Center has very few stores open today, probably because of Phase 2 HA still in force this week so the stallholders are not opening for too long. Happy that my fishball noodle stall is open!

A Hawker Centre tucked in the middle of the Mei Ling Street estate is the Mei Ling Hawker Centre in the Queenstown area. This long time Hawker Centre has some gems located here that makes it deserving of a visit, and it has one stall here which is a current Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award recipient. A stall specialising in Ipoh Hor Fun, Shi Hui Yuan is a popular stall with multiple outlets around the country. The original stall is located at Mei Ling Hawker Centre and it was to here a visit was made. The Hor Fun was smooth with a sauce that was slightly herbal. The meats were succulent and great tasting, and together with the mushroom, was really yummy. Definitely worthy of their Michelin Bib Gourmand Award but not necessarily worth travelling here just for it. Xin Lu Teochew Fishball Noodle is another popular stall here that specialises in Fishball Noodles. Helmed by the 3rd generation, this fishball stall can be easily found with its long queue. The Fishball here is huge and yummy pairing really well with the Mee Pok is considered one of 10 must try Mee Pok of Singapore. Mei Ling Street (Handmade) Carrot Cake serves up one of the best Fried Carrot Cake with their own handmade radish cake. The Fried Carrot Cake is really fragrant and yummy and it is especially enhanced when ordered with egg added. Between the Black or White options, the White options is better with chili. This stall is a mystery for many and has often been mislabeled as Temporarily Closed on Google Maps due to their very limited opening hours Lao Jie Fang Braised Beef Noodles makes really good Beef Brisket and Tendon Noodles. The beef brisket is cooked for hours and absorbs the flavors of the sauce. The noodles are so well cooked that it is springy and al dente, and matches well with the Beef Brisket and Tendon. Every bite is tender and heavenly. Mr Bready is operated by 2 young hawkers and they created really good bread and kuehs with a new twist. Everything is done on site at their stall and their star item is the Huat Kueh of various flavours. The best Huat Kueh flavour is the Rose Lychee, with a sweet smell and nice sweet bite of lychee in it. Hup Kee Teochew Fishball Mee is the other Teochew Fishball Noodle stall at the market. The fishball mee here has fishcakes and minced meat and they even serve meatballs. The meatball is really juicy while the fishball is really springy. The version here is pretty good and can be considered for those who wish to try an alternate stall. Delisnacks serves up various types of Fried Dough Fritter snacks. Their extensive range of products makes one have a hard time deciding. Sadly, the flavours of their items are not fantastic, heavy flour taste and generally not yummy. Lak Kuan Economic Bee Hoon - Kueh sells various types of traditional Chinese (race not country) steamed snacks. From Local snacks like Tapioca Balls to Buns and Hakka Abacus Seeds. Sadly the offerings here were a little overcooked and overly chewy with a taste of old oil. Tan Song Heng is a popular stall with many customers waiting for their orders in front of the stall serving Fried Hokkien Mee and Fried Kway Teow. Unfortunately, the dishes served here were found to be salty and a soggy mess. After the experience, it makes one wonder how is it that this stall still has so many customers. The experience from this Hawker Centre was that there were a couple of stalls that were really good while there were the usual stalls which somehow are still doing well even though their offerings were less than ideal

Many stalls selling all sorts of local food, another great place to taste local food, and ample seats, clean and spacious. For those who are driving, it is linked to the multi storey carpark. Nice place to get a meal there.

Clean and spacious. Good variety of food like this Teow Chew fish ball noodle, chicken rice and economic vegetarian like noodle shop at the 1st floor. Ground the wet market is clean and there is balance of seafood, meat, fruits, veg and even organic stalls
