β β β β β Well cooked and tasty hookien prawn mee. I tasted one apprentice's prawn mee at blk 79 circuit road (closed) and although the servings was more than here, it still couldn't match the original in taste.
I used to frequent here alot but now I've cut down because its not the healthiest. Its definitely a comfort food. The claypot noodle is also worth a try.

β β β β β This is one of Singapore's best Hokkien Fried Prawn Noodle. It is recognisable by the many accolades pasted on the stall front.
The fried noodle is very good and comes with plenty of pork slices, a couple of prawns, deep fried pork lard, eggs with the fried noodle and complete with sambal chilli.
One item, noticeably, absent is calamari which is local favourite item in the fried noodle. This is featured in the photo of the dish on the store front.

β β β β β Stumble on this stall after visiting nearby shop. Itβs definitely better than the current geylang lor 29 fried hokkkien mee! Order 5 dollar portion for each version which is just nice

β β β β β Saw a constant flow of people queueing up at this stall, including an Indian couple. Decided to try despite just eating a bowl of prawn noodles.
Nicely fried, good flavour!

β β β β β Flavourful wet-style hokkien mee. I always ask for extra chili.

β β β β β Not a fan but decided to go for a try since no queue in front. Overall is portion ok and ingredients are generous. But my best choice still goes to blk 302 Chua Chu Kang tat is much more umami taste and their sambal chillies is a plus+ to the noodles.

β β β β β This stall always have a long queue. Today the queue is shorter so I decided to try it (finally!). There a lots of pics of the owner with celebrities and I am glad to see itβs the owner who is cooking the noodles for me! (Instead of some hired staff). The noodles texture is nice and every mouthful has the fragrant prawn umami flavour. Enjoyed it tremendously.

β β β β β Quite disappointed with the dish. I think the owner appears on TV before. When I bought the dish, he was sitting outside. While a lady was at the wok scooping up the noodles. Not exactly sure who cooked the noodles. Nothing special. No present prawny umami taste, no wok hei. It seriously is a forgettable plate of hkm. I am not sure if this is bcos mine was the last plate for the night that's why the standard was like this. They switched off the lights once my plate was served.
