The doctor that was assigned to my dad was unsympathetic and not compassionate at all. He didn't bother to explain or talk much to us during our many visits and just kept saying cancer is incurable. Make me feel that he just wants to get us out of the room ASAP. He never went through the CT scans with us unless we asked for it.

Want to feedback about the attitude of this guy named Fahar from NCCS billing department. After informing Fahar that I was billed wrongly, and asking him to reverse the transaction, he kind of blamed me for making things troublesome for them. He insisted that I should just try claiming the same bill in 2 separate payment amounts (medisave and cash) from my insurer. It's ridiculous that he is making their problem my problem. He kept insisting and when I asked "so are you going to refund or not"? He replied "if you insist." In the end I told him never mind, since he claims it's so troublesome to correct his error, I'll make it troublesome for myself instead and claim from my insurer for both amounts in different payment modes - which not only makes the claiming process longer but confusing for the insurer. I had to waste time to make multiple calls and emails to clarify with the insurer as they were confused. I also lost out on significant credit card rebates as the medical bill was a huge amount and they wrongly deducted part of it by medisave even though all along I had indicated that I want it billed in cash. Most companies would apologise and promptly correct their error if they make a mistake. To Mr Fahar, it's seems like it's the customer's fault when they make a mistake. Separately, we are also very upset with the attitude of this young Malaysian nurse at ATU. My father went for his 4th cycle of XELOX on 13 April, 2pm and was attended to by a young Malaysian nurse. All his previous chemo cycles were bearable but this particular round was extremely painful just 20mins into the chemo session. When he told the nurse that, she simply told him that's it's supposed to be very painful. My father then proceeded to ask another male nurse who repeated the same thing. When my aunt went to other hospital for chemo, they adjusted her drip when she felt intense pain and flushed it through with more fluid. Even a simple Google search online shows that the drip could be administered more slowly to reduce pain. Yet all the nurse could answer is "it's supposed to be this painful". I have no confidence in the training some of these nurses at NCCS received. Kindly advise on whether this is the SOP when administering chemo. Lastly to give due credit, nurses at level two who draw blood for pre-chemo tests are quite skilful and the reception at level 3 ATU have all been very helpful

I would like to send my greatest appreciation and extremely grateful to Dr Yong and the NCC crew members. My mum was diagnosed with breast cancer few years ago. Dr Yong has been responsible throughout the whole journey, sending positive vibes, smile and laughter to the patients. My mum had a midnight surgery due to internal bleeding . Dr Yong called me up immediately in the operating theatre once he had finish operating on my mum and assure me everything is okay. Now we had yearly review with him and he always had a smile on his face and energy to spice patient up! This is the worst place no one would like to go. You guys make it a pleasant place . Thanks much!

Feb 2019. Not a nice place to be at. But this might be anyone's inevitable midway recovery stop in his life journey. At least there was a car park nearby; at least there was cafe just next to it; at least the nurses and doctors were attentive. Wished that the consultation wait could be shorter; wished that the payment and appointment systems could speed up; wished that there was more accessibility to basement Lab levels. And we survived it.

Lucky to encounter quality CT Scan staff @ NCCS, Ms Eunice KANG for her professional patient and love-caring help when my pioneer citizen wife went for emergency scan yesterday morning ! Ms KANG was extremely helpful especially when her right hand was less able to perform the usual pre-scan procedures... She was the silver lining over the darkening distant horizon, so to speak ! It has really made her day!
