Nelly's prawning & cafe - 10 Neo Tiew Lane 2

We took the kids last week over the christmas holidays. Covered area with plenty of fans- nice and cool even on the hot day. Initially sceptical, my daughter was soon really excited to catch some prawns! We only planned 1 hour but we could easily have spent more time there. A chilled and friendly place- the guy running the show was super helpful. A very tasty thermidore was had the same night!

The prawn bite rate is very pathetic for the whole pond. Every customers are looking at each other for hours. For 3hrs, the most you get 3-4 prawns ( customer with prawning experiences) and some of the customers didn’t even get 1 prawn. For the 3hrs period, they only refill the prawns twice and you can see that about 10 prawns being throw in each time. The bucket contain water that splashed into the pond to create the impression that the bucket contain more prawns. Prawning is an activities for both adults and kids. Business need to strike a balance between profit and providing leisure. $36 for 3hrs is not cheap. And some families are here for their kids to experience first time prawning but there totally no bite! Should be my last time visiting this place. Prawning activities in Singapore have go downslope since years ago (ie business scared of customers getting prawns). Hope this management can do better. Today is my worst experiences in prawning!

It was our first time there and was definitely an enjoyable experience. Sherman, who worked there, was friendly, helpful and patient in guiding us. My daughter loved it so much that she wants to go back 2 days in a row!

nice place to chill out with friends and family, the staffs are friendly and helpful, and the food in the cafe is delicious too. enjoy the quiet environment there, just rmb to apply mosquito repellent if necessary. it worths the price for a short getaway from busy work life with family and friends.

Great service by this gentlemen! He is super patients and explained how to do a proper pawning technique also took out his pet chicks and chicken for the kids to pet! :)!!! Well done .. we hd a great time !!!

i've been here 3-4 times now, and i'm deeply saddened when i found out that the former owner had passed on, but also super warmed to know that his son has taken over and i must add that this place has great potential! great customer service! we prawned for 3 hours at $36 and we caught 3 plastic bags worth of prawns (some with eggs!), as well as big crawfishes! we recommend coming in the daytime where its warmer and the prawns will be more active and hungry. they refill the ponds every hour! i would also recommend to come earlier on weekends to get the best part of the main pool which is the corners as that's where the prawns like to be at. if you're new to prawning, or have little children that wants to try prawning for the first time, Sherman will patiently guide you and provide tips on how to prawn. he is very helpful and attentive to your needs.

Came here for the 1st time with my 5 yr old son. Wow! The service provided by Sherman was amazing! He patiently explained to my son the techniques of how to set up and how to catch prawns. For a first timer, 5 prawns in 2 hrs I think is a very good catch rate! The prawns were topped up twice while we were there. Highly recommended for a kids' day out!

Our usual outing for the kids during holidays or weekends. An escape to the nature and tranquility. The prawning area is spacious and under shades. 1hour is at $20 and you got to catch good quality prawns and mini lobsters. More activities coming up from them and that area for families. And they also replenish the prawns quite often for patrons to enjoy the catching. Definitely a great place to relax your weekends if you do not want to visit any crowded places. Great service too?
