★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All of the Subways in Singapore seem to be very clean and well-maintained. This one is a connection port to other Subway Lines. It is also connected to a large mall and has lots of shopping and plenty of restaurants for something to eat. I think you can spend an entire day walking around this place, it's huge. The pictures of the shoes were taken just inside the mall entrance from the street.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the main interchange between Downtown line and North South line, and I visit here a fair bit to move from the West part of Singapore to Orchard or Bishan / Ang Mo Kio area. Apart from the fact that the 2 lines are quite a walk away, and that it's the only interchange thus far across the entire Singapore where you've to tap in and out to get across, it's very well structured and organized, and most importantly, efficient.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Newton station, at the intersection of Red and Blue lines, is a gateway to everything from hawker centers to office towers and residences. It's a short walk from Orchard and the lively high street there. Close to British staples The Red Lion and Smith's Fish and Chips. Conveniently there are lots of ATMs in the station and also a 7-Eleven for drinks and snacks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Convenient, with lots of effort put into designing especially the Downtown Line portion of the station.
However, a person taking the North-South Line needs to tap out and then tap in again in order to change to the Downtown Line and vice-versa, which can be confusing for people new to the station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After opening downtown line, the Newton circus area becomes very convenient. It’s easy to across the road toward each direction now.
(If you push the stroller or use wheelchair, you still need to check how to across safely)
But around MRT, there’s nothing special except the food court.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Short transit betw Newton Downtown Line (Blue) and North South Line (Red). Hair cut place at Blue line! Very convenient. Visit them soon :))
The red line station can be warm sometimes due to crowding & aircon under service. Friendly SMRT staff.
Landmarks: Newton Food Centre (famous for BBQ seafood, prawn mee, duck noodles, Thai food, Nasi Padang etc.)
Prudential@Scotts, NEA, Sheraton Towers, Alliance France.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are big fans of the stations in the DownTown Line. Usually a couple of stories or so down the escalator before you reach the trains. Always cleaner and cooler than the East-West or North-South lines.
