NUH Children's Emergency - #1 NUH Children's Emergency

This is the most disappointing experience ever. My child had fever and we visited the NUH Children's Emergency twice, the doctors there are very junior and could not figure out the reason for the recurring fever. They only gave us the med to reduce fever but it never resolve the root cause of the fever， which makes my child suffered for another two days fever and cough. Please consider carefully before your visit, because I will never go there again.

We had been here 3-4 times for our son's pulled elbow issue. The Doctors are very experienced and "fixed" his elbow with a few simple adjustments. He could almost used his hand immediately. For our past visits, the overall treatment & waiting time can be as short as 30mins or longest was 2 hours. Only one parent is allowed due to COVID measures, which we understand.

Has to be the emergency with the least urgency. Brought my son in with head trauma, he had hit his head at the corner of my coffee table. It had split open and he was bleeding. We applied pressure on the wound to stop the bleeding so by the time we got to NUH Children's Emergency his bleeding had stopped and the wound compressed. But we can clearly see the gash. The child was in trauma and they should have quickly sewn him up. Waited more than 2 hours. They had a total of 5 sets of patients with us. Nobody moved, it was like we were playing a game of statues. First world country with 3rd world healthcare, well done Singapore! Please never come here.

We went there midnight as my kid has 40 degrees high fever and vomiting. They told us our waiting time is about 4 hours. I hope they can improve for this and it should be treated as emergency as this is emergency ward. The staffs look relax only. Sigh !

Uncle infront of the A&E was extremely rude. If were to go for a new job he should join SPF be an inspector. “You come for what?” “then?” Proceeds to hand me the same exact sticker regardless of where I’m going. So many redundant questions. I come A&E of cos either to see doctor or accompany. If not come eat bakchormee ah? Or come smoke with the cardiologist? If unhappy with his job should just quit instead of spreading agony onto people who is already in pain. Really tarnishing the good name of this Hospital. Rabak sia really.

Save yourself some headache/heartache and time wasting, learn from me. don’t sent your baby here. They don’t allow to see pediatric dr without appt and the a&e is staffed by newbie drs. Took me 3 hours to see a doctor via the a&e and 4 hours for a test result only to have me go home and come back another day to see pedi. What a waste of time and public resources

Visited on the 24thfeb @ 12mn as my child kept vomitting non stop and c/o extreme pain. After getting thru the tri-age, we were kept waiting in a negative pressure room for a few hours with hospital staffs only coming back to check on us every 2.5 hours. It seems like the emergency department didnt really help us much in the relief of the symptoms. ((Waiting area has about 5-6 patients atm when we arrive)) All we can do is to wait. For?? For the dr to come(not an immediate thing, he only came after 2.5hours later after triage screening. 2.5 hours later? (Without dr) Another staff came with a huge xray machine. And finally the last stretch of 3 hours later.. (Staff nurse) Oral meds to stop vomitting? Are you kidding me NUH? So i’ve waited from 12mn till 7am-8am just for oral meds? I believe there is a jab to stop extreme vomitting immediately. Extremely disappointed with their “emergency response “ Please please please head to the nearest private hospital. (Spend a little more but at least get your issues settled at the fastest possible time instead of hanging around waiting for nothing) Forget it if you are coming to NUH Children’s A&E for emergency treatment cause it has the least importance to them despite approaching the staff several times. ???????????????

Very bad experience in NUH children ED. Sent child to ED due to high fever, waited there almost 6 hours, no one attend to child, and in the end one Dr attended her, planed to admit her to ward, two hours later, plan changes without inform spoken person, and discharged child to home. Until two days later; still no one update what’s happening and the fever still persisted.
