A cosy and laid back Japanese x Italian fusion restaurant, Oishii Ristorante has a really delicious Omakase set which is a good combination of Japanese and Italian classic dishes. I had the 6 course and thereโ€™s also a 8 course available. Starting off with the baby spinach spinach, this was followed by the spinach ravioli with ricotta cheese and a tomato base, then a classic Chawamushi with scallop, followed by the main dish which was a superb Salmon don complemented by a mushroom dashi with mussels and octopus and topped off with a superb coconut & lychee ice cream. 5/5! Gotta try if you havenโ€™t!

Tried their 6 course omakaze, is a promotion. Eat with friends. Worth it. The food they served was good. I especially love the yuzu rice. At first I'm thinking of eating at another place after this, probably will not be full. But turn out portion given was good enough. The staff there was nice and polite.

An absolute rip-off, and worst experience ever. We arrived for our lunch reservation at 12pm, the restaurant wasnโ€™t even open yet, there was one inexperienced staff trying to tend to everyone and she did not know the basics of customer service or even how to take a simple order that wasnโ€™t from the set menu. She couldnโ€™t even tend to the cash register. It was appalling when the bar manager arrived 45 mins later to give this poor girl a hand. She was clearly out of her depth and had no proper training which reflected in her poor attitude, huffing when we tried to order some drinks from the ala carte menu. She didnโ€™t even offer us any water until 40 minutes into service, to which we were only given a glass when there were two dining. We also witnessed her pouring the remnants of an old bottle of wine into a freshly open bottle, right in front of the whole restaurant. The worst outcry is that Oishii claimed they were doing a birthday omakase at a โ€˜stealโ€™ of $48 per pax for 6 courses at lunchtime. Note there is a $23++ set for 3 courses and $29++ lunch set for 5 courses and the omakase experience encompassed of the exact same dishes from the lunch set. In fact, some of the lunch set dishes were by far superior. I stupidly bought into the โ€˜cheapest omakaseโ€™ offer which at $48 per pax was a complete disappointment and waste of money as out of the 6 dishes, 4 were recycled from the set menu. First course was a tempura prawn, second was a salad, third was a chawan mushi, fourth was a main of chirashi don, fifth (and very surprisingly to be served after the mains) was a measly miso soup which is given as free in most other restaurants, and dessert was a scoop of ice-cream. How they justified that as an omakase experience is beyond me. A complete rip-off. Their instagram post shows an array of beautiful and experimental dishes they โ€˜couldโ€™ serve you for omakase, and of course they caveat that omakase means at the chefโ€™s mercy, but to be served the exact same dishes as the set meal and pay over and above for what was an omakase is a complete fraud. The salmon chirashi don wasnโ€™t fresh, the miso soup was boring and bland, and the ice cream was probably something out of a tub. Even if some additional pieces of abalone was thrown on top of the chawan mushi, or a slither of cheese and walnuts added to the salad does not elevate it to be considered as an omakase experience. Oishii should just call it what it is, a 6 set lunch course and perhaps that would have been more acceptable although no one in their right mind would have paid $48 for those courses, and they know it! My partner ordered some truffles edamame which were cold, and his truffled pasta main was lacking in any ingredients. We will never be returning, a complete sham of a wannabe restaurant trying to play in the big league when clearly out of its depth in every aspect.

Terribly let down by the 6 course omakase which had costed more than 40$ per pax. 2/6 of the dishes were a mere plain salad and a plain miso soup. The tuna tart was ok. The ham spaghetti was too salty. The remaining 2 was chawamushi and ice cream. Food quality and quantity are not worth the price. Went for round 2 else where after the meal. Service was friendly.

This unassuming Japanese restaurant does live up to its name. While the menu is quite limited, the asari clam aglio olio and wagyu hanger steak bowl were outstanding. Honestly, itโ€™s been a while since iโ€™ve had such decadent plate of Japanese pasta. The amaebi karaage (fried shrimps) recommended by the staff was crispy and surprisingly juicy. ? Portions here may be small for big eaters.

I was so pleased with my omakase experience here! The break in between each dish was just nice, and in overall, the dishes were really tasty. Another good thing is that their omakase is pretty affordable too. The restaurant is highly accessible in Tj Pagar area, though I must say the ambiance is not as cozy/intimate as typical high-end Japanese restaurants ? Definitely give it a try!!

Parma Ham with Wasabi Cream & Spaghetti and Tagliatelle Bolognese ? Food wise: The Parma Ham with Wasabi had a very interesting and exciting taste to it, you taste fusion right there. The wasabi wasn't strong as well, it's fragrant and light! But I do suggest getting more wasabi to strengthen the taste of wasabi and thus enhance the overall flavour. Taste of excitement on every mouth, if one likes wasabi. The colour of the ham just looked fantastic! Tasted wonderful too! Tagliatelle, well, bold and flavours with more depth to it. Mouthful of meat, Italian pork sausage and beef, satisfying! Threw wasabi in as well, after eating the original flavours, of course, cause why not! It was fun! The pasta was all well cooked, had nice firm textures, and was well seasoned! โœจ Ambience wise: Nice and cosy lightings, really great for dates! ?? Service wise: Great! The staff were prompt! ? Price wise:Vouchers from #chope! Got the 1 for 1 deal at $23.55. Worth it!

We have been really surprised. You get really good value for the money you pay. Good quality food and nice atmosphere. Cold drinks. You should definitely try the Omakase set.
