★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Their Vegan Tacos is awarded SG's Top 50 Vegan dishes in 2021 by @abillion!
Do you know that Mexican food is named by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of mankind and Forbes named Mexico City one of the top ten cities for street food in the world?
Papi’s Tacos brings authentic and fuss-free Mexican fare to SG! Their Kitchen is helmed by Head Chef and Partner, Mauricio Espinoza (or Papi, as some like to call him) from Mexico. We had a chat with him and were touched by his sincerity and insistence on preparing his food in the traditional and laborious way to bring the best to his customers. For example, all his sauces are made in-house from scratch. They serve three types of basic housemade sauces (mild, medium or hot) which you can request or refill for free. We had the chipotle aioli sauce ($3) which was simply amazing!
Chilling out with friends with different dietary needs is now a breeze! Enjoy HAPPY HOUR 3-7PM daily, where you can get your SINGAPORE LAGER DRAUGHT, FROZEN LIME MARGARITA, HOUSE WINE BY GLASS or HOUSEPOUR SPIRITS at only $9++.
We tried the following dishes and we loved everything! You can taste the warm hospitality from the kitchen, as the food is not salty, yet exciting and exploding with flavours. The use of Impossible plant-based beef further elevates the texture and flavours.
?Mains:
?'CHEAT ON BEEF' (Vegan)
Plant-Based Meat, Flour Tortilla, Guacamole, Capsicum, Onion, Coriander, Salsa Verde
?IMPOSSIBLE TACO (2PCS) (Vegan)
Plant-Based Meat, Com Tortilla, Guacamole, Tomato Salsa, Lettuce, Coriander, Guajillo Hot Sauce
✅Mushroom QUESADILLA
Served with Homemade Salsa + Sour Cream
?Drinks:
?️FROZEN LIME MARGARITA
?️AGUA FRESCA
Fresh lime juice, mint leaves, agave nectar
Their drinks are so refreshing with their sweet sour blends.
It is a small restaurant with limited seatings and very popular; hence reservation is recommended. Located along Seah Street opposite to Raffles Hotel, there are some parallel parking lots.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Expensive. Their fish taco was amazing, l and a more worthwhile taste for your money than the beef taco. However, i didn't really enjoy their salsa since it was a bit on too moist for me. No complaints about the lime margaritas, pretty standard.
Props to the friendly staff for giving one free taco to this homeless person who stumbled in while I was there tho

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ve been here several times now with various friends. Service is good. I generally like their food, and the margaritas are tasty (the habanero one is particularly nice if you like spicy), but I always leave feeling like the value proposition could have been a lot better. Their happy hour prices should be their regular prices, particularly given the venue, but the food is also on the expensive side: you’re paying a lot for what you get. The chips are decent, though their salsa is a tad watery and could have more tomato flavor. The burritos aren’t bad but they’re not super. They’re smallish and can be bland. The meat is of course well seasoned but they’re also full of rice, which is completely tasteless. The tacos are okay. The churros are nice: hot, crispy, and chewy with a chocolate dipping sauce. I haven’t tried the milk cake.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good location. Some really good taco options made better on Tuesdays. Quite packed even on weekdays so best to reserve before heading down. Tacos are delicious and filling is decent. Price is slightly on the higher side hence 4 instead of 5 stars. Interesting artifacts placed around the restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love their fish tacos! Well cooked, tender, and deliciously paired with the sauce. The shrimps tacos were seasoned similarly, but paled in comparison to the fish tacos which had a heartier bite and a more balanced texture overall. Would definitely choose the fish over the shrimp any day. The mushroom quesadilla is delicious as well, not too greasy. Drinks are on the high side, so go during happy hour to snag a pretty good deal on beers and frozen margaritas. Had the shaken margarita and it was nice and strong.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite enjoyed it, decent price point. I waited a little bit long before I started eating because my friend was on a call and the skin got a bit soaked in the sauce and got soggy - so I recommend you eat it when it hits the table! I got their platter and the prawn one hit the spot. Quite a nice quiet place too; nice alfresco vibes though it can get a bit hot if you aren’t under the fan!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best to make reservations before visiting. Very limited seating. Crowded during happy hour.
Slightly pricey for the food portion. Taste was not bad though.
The fish tacos was yummy. Pulled pork tacos were a bit dry.
Service was good. The guy at the door was friendly.
They served plain water too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place to spend some couple time with your partner or catch up with some old friends. Chat over a couple of Beef brisket / Pulled Pork Tacos, a basket of Tortilla Chip with Guacamole and Frozen Margaritas. Salud! ?
(Note: you may want to make a reservation before heading over. The restaurant is pretty full even on a weekday. Oh! Happy Hour is at 3-7pm!??)
