A rich culture for the Cantonese dialect group in Singapore.

This is a nice serene place whereby most visitors come to pay respects to their deceased family members. Used to cater only for the Cantonese, but then expanded to accept those from the other dialect groups likely due to dwindling numbers.

A meaningful museum to educate the younger generation of the significance of qing Ming and more . I enjoyed learning about the past and the many pavilions . Worth the visit !

Columbarium-temple with a lovely tiny garden and a great heritage gallery. The highlight for me was the gallery and its zoomed in look at how Bishan and its unique community evolved. Museums often focus on how a country affects and is affected by change whereas this gallery concentrates on a particular township, which strangely makes me more optimistic about human resilience.

Peck San Theng (碧山亭) has 6 major architecture styles, the Archway at the entrance, the Main administrative office suite, Temple Peck San and Guanyin, Temple Da Bo Gong, a Memorial monument, and the obvious Columbarium. It is an ideal location for exploring local Chinese history and searching one's root. Peck San Theng also exhibits 7 major treasures which tell the stories of hundred years of Chinese social development in Singapore. - The Peck San Theng inscription (Quanjuan bishanting xiaoyin’ stele), 1890, that describes the development of Peck San Theng in its early days. Displayed at the entrance of Heritage Gallery. - A pair of Italian marble lion sculptures (1918), produced by RAOUL BIGAZZI, was donated to Peck San Theng by the Wong family. They are displayed at the entrance of Peck San Temple. - A pair of traditional bells (1880, 1889), donated to Kwong Fook Temple by the Boey clan from Duanfen, Taishan County. The temple was demolished in the 1980s and the bell was donated to Peck San Theng. Bell (1889): donated to Peck San Theng by devotees. They are displayed in the Heritage Gallery. - Statue of Monkey God (1860s), the main deity of the defunct Kwong Fook Temple that was established in the 1860s. Displayed in Peck San Temple. - A Ding for worshipping (1891), jointly donated by 10 devotees. Displayed in Peck San Temple. - Salvation ritual inscription (1923), a commemorative stele with inscription detailing the establishment of Grand Universal Salvation Ritual. Displayed in Fu De Ci.

Wonderful piece of history! Came here after listening to a podcast by 99% Invisible on life and death in Singapore. The volunteer committee was here the day I visited and gave me a tour and talked me through the history of this facility and the local Chinese community.

The uncles and aunties here taking good care of my grandparents, who now have the opportunity to hang out with their friends. however do note that this is a not an all inclusive resort as we have to burn houses, boats, handphones, iPad, money etc for them. interesting terraced structure for the urns and niches.
