★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I happened to be in Cluny Road area and came across this lovely boutique coffee shop. Nice vibes and music but well the lemon toast wasn’t really what I expected to be. Though it tasted good but it did not live at all upto our expectations. I don’t think that it was stale but I guess due to airconditioning the entire thing was totally hardened. Upon asking the server, coz of the layers, our request to warm it in the oven was turned down. OUCH…that hurts ! I suggest if that’s so then rather the toast lose all its moistness and softness due to dry air of AC, they should keep it well tight enclosed glass shelf. No point keeping it open. Hope they do some amends. Chai latte was good though. Hence 2 stars. Else I would have judged with 1 star !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a blueberry slice thingie takeaway - tasted great. Only a bit troublesome having to wait to enter the store since only one person can be in the small space at a time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is how the pineapple tarts arrived during CNY 2022 - I have not eaten any, I have reached out via FB, messenger and email 7 days ago for a response on whether this is intended or if perhaps the package had been opened and tampered with during delivery (i.e. someone ate a few and caused the hole). There was no further packing to cover the hamper, nor were there any stickers to indicate if the item had been opened - no scotch tape, no little tabs to cover some of the sides of the tin so that you know if it's been opened. If you were me, would you 1) be able to gift this and 2) eat this yourself in covid times?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered the box of 4 (cookies and cream, red velvet, earl grey lavender and hazelnut chocolate) cupcakes. Overall, flavours were delicious and cakes were moist and fluffy. Only gripe would be that the exterior part of the frosting had a grainy texture. However, I still enjoyed them. (Order on grab self pick up for a slight discount and avoid the queue!)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came by here for the coffee after lunch - I really like the taste of their Long Black. The downside was the use of rather subpar ceramic cups for dining in. The cups had a very awkward and tiny handle, which made it very difficult to hold the cup without scalding my hands. My companions thought the same too - suggestion to Plain Vanilla to switch to more practical cups?
Would still return for their cupcakes and coffee though! Always a winner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried their red velvet and vanilla bean cupcakes, and it was so good! Like the frosting on top especially! Also, their marble loaf cake is so darn good too, just the perfect texture ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First time shopping for cupcakes and tarts at Plain Vanilla…That strawberry creme brûlée flavour is a 10/10 amazing! The cupcakes were so smooth and moist but on the very sweet side. Well, these are desserts so desserts gotta taste like desserts. Will definitely be back for that creme brûlée tart ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean and cozy ambience. Server is friendly and welcoming. We manage to enjoy a good cup of hot aromatic coffee with a compliment of warm baked salmon quiche. A good place to chill out with buddies. Will visit again ❤️
