I think the most important thing when having a personal trainer is the good vibes and a connection. Good communication is important. That applies to any physical training or exercise. You got to have a connection with the trainer in order for him or her to know what you wish to achieve and them to help you achieve that, without being overbearing. At the same time be attentive to pickup the vibe when the client is saying time-out in their own way. Having said that, Ming has a sharp eye to pickup if am bending the leg in a slightly out of alignment or going too fast. Am in good hands. There’s always a warm friendly face at Range Personal Training, so you fit in just fine.

I have known Ming for around 6 years now and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a sound, knowledgeable and science-based personal trainer - whether you are just starting out in fitness needing someone to guide you on the basics or if you already know the fundamentals of lifting and need a coach to plan a proper training program for you, Ming is your man! He is patient, kind and attentive - every single client will have something just for them and you can be sure that it won’t be a cookie-cutter program. He will be there every step of the way to help you achieve your personal goals.

Ming, from RANGE Personal Training, is professional and yet down to earth. I appreciate his eye for details in the technique; he is meticulous in breaking down the flow of each movement, making it easy for a lay person like me to understand. It comforts me that he doesn’t focus on the numbers or how much fat I’ve lost (or gained!), but he focuses on the long-term goals: sustainability and strength. Ming is an expert at what he does! His knowledge about training and the biomechanics of movement is very impressive. Listening to him explain the science behind each exercise gives me a lot of assurance that my program is sound and evidence-based. I also enjoy conversations with him during training sessions because he has a good sense of humour and is ready to talk about anything. Ming is reliable and relatable, and I would recommend RANGE to anyone in a heart beat.

I have known Ming for several years now and recommend him highly to anyone who’s looking to improve their overall health and fitness via proper strength and conditioning principles, as well as dietary guidance. I’m extremely impressed by his professionalism and knowledge (all his methods are grounded in scientific evidence, and he’s always seeking to improve himself further by acquiring more skills), as well as his cheerful and patient demeanour when it comes to dealing with clients. Ming also practices everything he preaches and is very dedicated to his own fitness goals - a very good role model to his trainees. I very much enjoy the useful and engaging content on his Instagram page as well, which often take the form of simple yet educational posts that are easy for the general public to understand and absorb. Ming is a hard working and professional personal trainer who demonstrates consistency and listens closely to his clients. He always aims to add value and takes every opportunity to educate his clients whether that be information on muscle activation or an alternative way to do a particular movement. Ming is methodical and creates well balanced training programmes. He builds solid relationships with his clients and his easy going personality shines through each training session. Even those 6am ones! Highly recommended.

Ming is a very attentive and resourceful personal trainer. The past few weeks that I have been training with him, not only did he help me build a sustainable and personalised program based on my goals, but he has also helped me build better habits in my daily activities. He also explains the science and mechanism behind the movements or the programming itself, so rest assured that his programs are evidence-based training and no gimmicky stuffs. Ming also checks in on his clients regularly and that shows how dedicated he is in what he’s doing. Overall, Ming is a very committed and passionate person in his field and he will definitely be a great help for you in achieving your goals.

Ming is a wonderful trainer, coach and person. As a trainer, he understands your objectives and provides you with the knowledge and skills to reach and sustain your goals. As a coach, he encourages and builds your confidence with each challenge. As a person, he’s warm and humorous and each session is great fun. Ming puts in time and effort in expanding and deepening his knowledge about the human body, training techniques and the science behind effective training. He applies this to his training and explains the principles to me simply and effectively. Personally, Ming’s enthusiasm has given me a great sense of ownership and engagement with my own training. I am happy and grateful to be training with Ming. The habits I have formed, the building of a sustainable lifestyle are life skills that I apply now. I look forward to training and aging actively and gracefully in the years ahead.

Truly excellent PT-- Ming is very careful to take care of your form and programs based on your goals/injuries/needs, but what really sets him apart is that he considers all the other stuff that happens to you in between your sessions with him: your sleep, your stress levels etc, and he understands the cumulative impact that these have on your fitness. He's also got a really solid foundation of knowledge and expertise (no bro-science here) and a pretty interesting/refreshing philosophy towards fitness. Can't recommend him enough!
