The beef rendang was cooked well, easy on the bite and flavourful. The bagadel was delicious. Overall, quite a home cooked feel. There was an on-going community service project for seniors at the time of visit, so did not try the Ark Coffee, instead went across to the opposite coffeeshop for normal coffeeshop coffee si kosong.

Heard about the services they are providing the community, their difficulties getting funding. I chose 3 veggie with beef rendang ($8). Beef rendang was tender, well marinated. Veggies are good. Sambal blachan is suitable for most but personally I prefer spicier ?Do hope they will get more sponsors and continue their good work

Very good rendang opposite enabling village. Bergrdil, rendang + veg +rice $6. Cozy and windy sitting. Dont feel rushed at all. Its apparently a community kitchen. Ample parking.

I was recommended to this place as I had bought the food voucher during the National Food Fest organised by Social Live. I was completely satisfied with this set of Nasi Ambeng, having it for the very first time. Every item in this set was so delicious and it was good for 3-4 persons to share. The fragrant rice comes with beef rendang, chilli prawns, tempeh, bergedel, brinjal, achar, cuttlefish, sayur lodeh and soto ayam. If you would like to head down to this place, do check out the opening hours. On certain days, it would close early. Do take note that it’s not open on Sunday.

In the neighbourhood of Lengkok Bahru at Redhill, we were tucking in authentic Peranakan food whipped up by Peranakan Chef Gabriel. Appetisers like Kerabu nanas(pineapple salad), otak otak prepared our appetite for what’s to come. Ayam buah keluak and Nonya Curry Fish Head served in a large claypot Served with fluffy lemongrass basmati rice are die die must haves. Last course was chendol, yummy! As a social enterprise, S17 contributes 2000 free meals to the elderly in the neighbourhood, so we ate with a good cause too.

Came here after watching Sethlui's feature on the owner. While I must say that $8.50 for my plate of nasi padang felt kind of steep, I definitely felt better knowing that it wasn't going to line the pockets of some towkay. But aside from the price, I must say that this was one amazing plate of food. Will definitely return, knowing that I can eat and help the local community at the same time.

Authentic Peranakan fare at a reasonable price. I especially enjoyed the Ayam Buah Kerak- the paste is rich and nuanced, deserving of its nickname “Asian dark chocolate”. And the beef rendang is really flavourful without being overpowering - I say this as a person who doesn’t usually order rendang! I would also go for the special Nangka Pengat if it is available - very surprising discovery of a dessert. Overall the experience was great.

Located in an old estate. The area have been upgrading and revamping. This shop used to sell Nasi lemak. Ordered beef lung, chicken curry, brinjal & fried wing. Curry is vey lemak, not spicy. The rest are well cooked and flavoured. $9 for the plate is definitely affordable.
