β β β β β Reasonable priced nasi padang. Taste nice except the tahu telor. Prefer this to the other one few doors down. Service is okay if you donβt come in expecting five star service.

β β β β β Had lunch today over at Sabar Menati for their Nasi Padang. its a walking distance from Nicole highway and bugis Mrt station. there was quite a variety of dishes to choose from.
I Had the squid with black ink sauce, eggplant and a omelette and my meal came up to SGD7. For that pricing, the portion was quite small in my opinion. Food was not bad, i enjoyed my meal. Not sure if it was just me but the chilli sauce was unbearably salty.

β β β β β SM II sure has got one of the most fabulous, home comfort food - Nasi Padang!
My fav here is their Lontong (with a delicious dollop of Serunding).
U can add Sambal Goreng & Begedil to make it a full wholesome meal! The rempah is rich & full, right down to the last morsel, so shiok sedap!

β β β β β If you are in town area in the early morning like 7.00 am onwards and looking for delicious Nasi Padang or Lontong or Mee Siam, this is the place to go!! Prices may not be as cheap as hawker centers', but the taste & variety are awesome and worth it.

β β β β β I was intrigued by its history of having been around since 1920s. Went for a Thursday lunch and the place was filled with office crowd. We ordered a 1 person portion each of Ayam Merah ($5) , Ikan Assam Pedas($5) , Sambal Udang($5), Spinach($5), 2 plates of rice($2) and a cup of Teh-C kosong ($1.50). The bill was $23.50. I asked 70ish Mak Cik who was seated at the cashier counter how much each item was and was very startled to hear that it was $5 for the spinach. I went back to the table and stared at the 1 person portion of spinach and felt it was too expensive for $5. Went to confirm with the young man who dished the spinach if the portion was indeed $5. He told me he didn't know the price. He said he would check and left . After going about his stuff for a while he went to check with an elderly Pak Cik. The Pak Cik came over to look at the portion and said he would check. He then left and went about his work. We waited for a bit and he did not come back to confirm. We checked the price list on the wall where vegetables were shown to be $1.00 to $1.50 for a portion. My lunch partner then decided to approach cashier Mak Cik. As he got to the counter Mak Cik took out $5 and returned it to my lunch partner. This experience did not leave a good impression at all.
Ayam Merah was fragrant from the flavour of the onions and salty. Sambal Udang was fragrant too with the aromatic spices and salty. Ikan Assam was a big big disappointment lacking in aromatic flavour and super salty, tasted like salt water. Overall the cook can go light on the salt in every dish. If you are on a low salt diet or if you are mindful of your health stay away.
I would not return or recommend this place.
