Sing Ho Hainan Chicken Rice - 6 Jalan Bukit Merah

Chicken is very tender and juicy, thumbs up! Rice is fluffy but less flavour, soup is more on the gingery side. Service is rather bad, condiments on the table were not refilled. Overall service level is spoilt by this guy who ordered you to self service on small request and even when his colleague helped, he told them off to let the guest self service. Look at the guy standing on the right side, in black trousers. Super bad attitude!!!

Not the best, average only, portion and price are reasonable. the rice do taste ok but overcooked, the vegetables are overcooked too, luckily the chicken meat itself is still good enough to consider eatable. The only item that is good - In term of service..don't bother..was having it at 4:30pm yet they still can't make the food right..

If you're nearby and would love the taste of a Hainanese chicken rice (as you know this is not really Hainanese just like another famous dish Yangzhou fried rice isn't really from Yangzhou), this is the place for you. If not, I think there's no need to come for this restaurant, it's better than medium but not excellent. A 雞尾飯 (literally chicken tail rice) for 7.5 and a 雞腿飯 (chicken leg rice) for 8.5, the price of the latter one has been raised, I knew from a friend that it was also 7.5 at the end of last year. The waitress recommended the cheaper 雞尾飯 saying it's even more delicious, I'm not sure if it's right since I haven't tasted both.

Good Chicken Rice with Other Options The chicken rice here is good. Tasty, and there's a range of other options if one doesn't want to have chicken rice. We ordered half a steamed chicken, a sambal kangkong (stir-fried vegetables in chilli), and the Thai glass chicken feet. All were good but we enjoyed the chicken the most. If I have to find a flaw, I would say the chicken is too soft. But many like softer chicken too so to each his own. Service is quite quick overall.

Sing Ho Hainan Chicken Rice The last time I ate this must be ten years back. After reading what A friend wrote about this, which he claimed was a really bad chicken rice, I still decided to give it a try. At least, I did not have negative experience the last time I ate. After a long walk, I am hungry, anything should have tasted good. I walked right into the Aircon section and I noticed all the workers staring at me. 白鸡腿饭，I said, that is steam chicken drumstick with rice, I even paid before I ate. It was $6, my heart nearly stopped for a couple of seconds, then I took a deep breath. The rice and chicken was served. I could sniff the strong ginger smell from a distance. As part of my ritual, I would taste the rice. Big spoonful of rice went into my mouth....err... where is the chicken taste? It tasted like rice with ginger water. Then I tried the chilli, pretty good, spicy and fruity as well as complex layering in taste. Last came the chicken, I could only taste the sesame oil. Normally I would finish the rice without adding anything. I had to add dark soy sauce which was watery! This chicken rice is a complete disappointment. It is hardly anything like what I had before. I agree with My friend, this is the worst chicken rice I have eaten. Something has certainly gone wrong.

One of the better chicken rice place around - New place (they have moved across the road) comfortable with good familiar menu items at good prices. Fast efficient service and enjoyable food!

The chicken meat is juicy and tender, u can see the jelly between the skin and meat. It's a very traditional style of cooking Hananese chicken rice. The rice not so as good but has its own taste. The soup is nice if u like ginger. Chili not that superb. Overall I would say you should try out this stall if you like chicken rice.

Amazing Hainan Chicken Rice! The whole experience from start to finish it boss and lady boss is always so friendly and kind. The food can’t get better and the prices are fair for the portion size. Always a great spot to get great food.
